For me Sunday is all about chilling out, being cosy and eating yummy food. I like to make the most of the weekend and a lay in is always on the cards. But the other thing Sunday is filled with, even though I try my hardest not to, is thoughts about work in the morning. There’s obviously the usual alarm dread and racking through the list of things that need doing, but also the old … hmmm what shall I wear in the morning. So today’s post is a little inspiration for all of you who are in the same boat. A little work outfit inspiration.
This is an outfit I wore to work a little while ago, and whilst the dress is quite dressy and glamorous, styled with a smart blazer and some ankle boots, it transforms into a more work suitable dress. The dress itself is also long sleeve and high necked, so a good cut for work wear. I always wear my dresses with a thick pair of black tights in winter – the higher the denier the better for me.
. Zara tweed & leather Blazer £60 . AX Paris peplum dress & ankle boots £30 .
I always find a blazer smartens everything up, I have SO many these days in all different cuts, colours and styles as I wear them on an almost daily basis. Whether its coral casual ones for summer, structured black ones for work, or cream fantasy cuts for a classy edge. I find they go with everything and offer an instant way to smarten up an outfit.
This blazer is from Zara and is something I picked up before Christmas, it was £60 but I definitely have got my moneys worth to date. The tweed body and leather sleeve detail are perfect for AW12 and give an otherwise plain (ish) item, a statement twist.
What do you think of this workwear outfit? Do you always spend Sundays dreading and planning the week ahead?

Love this outfit! I always find it hard what to wear to work, I have never really wore a dressy dress and smarten it with a blazer I will definatly try that this week :)! xx

I love that blazer, I may have to look it up and ‘wishlist it’ for when my shopping ban is over. For me Sundays are about cleaning, cooking, ironing and getting prepared for the hectic working week ahead (so boring I know – I need a cleaner I think haha).

Great outfit. Blazers really do smarten any outfit up. I love them. I’m a primary school teacher and work in KS1 so I need more practical clothes unfortunately. I usually spend a good 7 hours doing lesson plans and prep on a Sunday. I dream of having a lazy Sunday! x

I try and plan my outfits but it never really works out! I work in an office which resembles a fridge a lot of the time – you plan to wear nice things and end up throwing a hoodie over the top just to keep warm! You kinda end up thinking what’s the point. That said, I do feel more productive and professional if I look good x
Loving the chunky heel boots :)

Seriously chic work outfit – I love how the addition of a blazer suddenly makes an outfit a little more polished.
