Keeping on the leather theme, because, well, why not? But this time in a far more casual outfit than yesterdays classic leather skirt look. Let me start by explaining that this style versatility, is why I love leather in the first instance. Despite the preconceptions and stereotypes that can come hand in hand with leather (we’ve all seem the movie type cast hookers in little mini leather skirts and dominatrix style fancy dress suits), but to me leather is far from that stereotype, I see it as classy, chic and edgy … and over the last year I’ve developed muchus love for the material.
Todays outfit is a far more casual styling of leather, and for that matter, leather hot pants. Not the easiest of more ‘wearable’ item in my wardrobe I must say, but every now and then I really want to wear them. I always have the ambition of an effortless and chic look when I wear them, but they always seem to look a little more ‘dressy’ (maybe you need stick thin legs for the effortless look?). Nonetheless, I wear them a fair bit, but mostly dressed in a very casual outfit with a big knitted jumper or a a huge cosy and casual Tee. Leather shorts don’t have to be for a Saturday night out, I quite enjoy them for a day time look too.
. Monki Knitted Jumper (old) . H&M Leather Shorts (old) . Zara Leopard Boots £80 .
I’m starting to get a little excited about Spring and sunshine now too, my more summery garments are winking at me daily, itching to jump out and get worn. I can’t wait for a bit of heat, and to start adding some more colour to my wardrobe. Other than my spring outfit inspiration the other day (see here), I’ve not been wearing much colour lately, i’ve been indulging in the muted tones and monochrome trends. But I vow to be bright, bold and brave when the sun hits.
What do you think of this leather shorts outfit? Do you wear leather shorts, how do you tend to style them? Have you found the cold weather has drained the colour from your outfits too?

Love love this outfit. The only slight thing I would do different is wear opaque black tights. All works really well though :) x
