Outfit

Completely, Utterly, Underrated

April 8, 2013

So embracing the irony, I decided to share this outfit today, on the first day of my new job, as it’s what I wore on the last day of my old job. See what I did there? Anyway, this is a new favourite outfit of mine and is what I wore a week or so ago to my last day at work (clearly adding tights & simple black ankle boots else it would have been highly inappropriate).
The dress is actually something I got gifted from the Missguided event I attended a week or so ago, it’s a really really simple sleeveless navy blue body con dress made of quite a thin tshirt material. By many standards a super simple, very basic tshirt dress, but jeez, I just fell in love with it immediately. I think it’s something to do with the high neck collar, bold and simple colour and sleeveless cut (not that you can see it here). I instantly wanted it, and as soon as I put it on, I knew we were meant for each other.
. Missguided Navy Dress . Zara Blazer £70 & Ankle Boots £80 . BritStitch Satchel £70 .
. Anthropologie Fedora £50 .
I styled the dress with my favourite Zara blazer, which I sadly had to mourn the loss of the morning after my leaving do as it was no longer in my possession (I was genuinely so gutted that I actually went on ebay and spent £70 replacing it the next day … I love it too much to not have it anymore). Anyway …. the blazer smartened the dress up for work, and also gave it quite a cool office chic twist. For this look I added my all time amaze balls leopard ankle boots, but for work swapped these for tights and suede black wedges for a slightly more ‘reserved’ look. I really love this dress, and the whole look and it’s definitely something I’m going to be wearing a lot when the sun arrives.
What do you think of this simple, but chic navy dress? Do you like the styling of the dress with slightly more bold and classic accessories?

I love this outfit, I wouldn’t have thought the boots would go with the blazer but you’ve styled it so well and it looks awesome!
