The sun is shining. Would you believe it? And in the spirit of sunshine and spring which I am hoping is finally arriving I thought i’d share a new dress of mine which is perfect for the transitional winter / spring look plus a real fave of mine.
I got this dress quite recently from MeeMee.com and immediately fell in love with the nautical styling and bold striped design. There’s something really chic and simple about the breton look, and this dress captures it perfectly. I love that it’s a high neck and the sleeves are a great length for spring time (not too over baring).
Styling wise, for this look I wanted to show a really simple evening look. Something you could wear out for cocktails or to a bar, but also something you could wear for dinner out on holiday or something. I decided to add my frilly socks to tone down the dress, giving it a little girly touch, but to keep the look dressy I added my chunky platforms to finish off the look.

One of the main things I love about this dress is the versatility in styling. I have a failry smart style, and that’s mainly because when I buy or look for new things, in the back of my head I’m always thinking whether I could style it up for work too. So this dress to me was an instant hit as not only could you wear it as I have here for an evening out or a holiday dinner out, but add a blazer and some smart shoes and tights and you’ve actually got a very chic and smart work outfit (which I have actually worn to work recently and will share on my blog soon).
