The Old School

Every now and then a new trend comes about that I can’t help but jump aboard. I wouldn’t say I consciously follow trends, I just tend to wear what ever I like at that time, but sometimes a new ‘it’ trend will come around that I can’t avoid joining the band wagon of. The pinafore is one of those trends. 

I’m loving the pinafore trend and already have a couple of items I’ve been wearing in recent months (my pinafore playsuit and pinafore  dress), this back pinafore is a new addition to my wardrobe from Desire – an online fashion store. I love the simplicity of this item and also the fit, it’s a perfect sizing. The dress itself is a bargain £16 and comes in about 5 colours so is a really easy way to embrace the trend.

I styled the dress in quite a classic way, with my navy fitted dress from Missguided underneath and my favourite Daniel Footwear sandals (unforgettable). Styling the pinafore with some chic strappy sandals made the outfit perfect for an evening out, but equally if I added a blouse and some brogues to the pinafore dress it’d make for a really geek chic day time look. As the dress cut is simple and the undergarment is subtle I decided to make a punch through my accessories, my shoes obviously give the look a real chic twist, but my gold necklaces also make the outfit a little more glamorous and sophisticated.
