THE SECRET GARDEN

July 28, 2013

. GARDEN DECOR .

For today’s post I wanted to share my new little table and chairs … which I have to say were a total bargain. This purchase inspired my friend to check out some outdoor teak furniture. She tells me it looks great in her garden. As you may have gathered from my recent lifestyle posts, i’ve recently moved into a flat in Richmond with my boyfriend. I absolutely love our new home, it’s a gorgeous Edwardian flat with original fire places, wooden floors and gorgeous high ceilings … we also have our own little garden which i’ve just fallen in love with. My friend said that my garden inspired him to get some Yakoe Rattan Garden Furniture. A different style but I think his garden looks lovely.

We’ve had some gorgeous summer weather recently and it’s really spurred Jase and I on to get some nice garden furniture for our new home. It’s a pretty expensive purchase to make but we managed to find a lovely wooden 4 seater set from Homebase (the PERU range) which we invested in last weekend. We’ve already used it 4 or 5 times so it was definitely worth the pennies and makes spending time in the garden so much more enjoyable. We have a gorgeous pergola with wisteria drooped all over it, so our new furniture takes pride of place on our patio overlooking the pretty flowers.
However being a girl I wasn’t settled enough and because our garden has little secret areas I wanted to get a cute little two seater to tuck away by the ivy for those summer evenings or fresh mornings when you want a cup of tea and a magazine to chill out and lap up some rays. I’d been eyeing up this little set from Tesco direct for ages, if it was up to me i would have bought it days ago, but Jase wasn’t so keen (and also thought it was silly to have two sets, ahem), but I held out for a good week. The set was £35 and half price (reduced from £70) so was a total bargain … after browsing heavily for alternatives it reaffirmed that this was a serious bargain and not worth missing. After finally persuading Jase that i NEEDED this table and chairs he gave in and let me buy them. I’m so glad I did.
I like the little feminine touches and I’ve managed to sneak a few more in with my Pashley taking price of place under the pergolia and my collection of hanging heart candles hanging down ready for evening garden parties and cute candle lit dinners.
On the theme of bargains, I also managed to find these seriously cute gingham cushions from Laura Ashley, both reduced from £20 to £11 each. I instantly snapped them up as I knew they’d look perfect on my new garden set. They’re extremely comfy and a real find given the price.
I’m really loving having my own home to do up, and have thoroughly enjoyed having a genuine excuse to buy things haha. We’ve settled in so well already and have managed to get some gorgeous homewear bits to make it feel like a home. I actually have another post in the line up with some bargain TK Maxx bits i’ve managed to find too … stay tuned.
If you missed my other ‘new home’ posts you can check them out here and here, plus follow my instagram or facebook page to keep up to date on all my escapades.
What do you think of my new garden set? Are you a fan of the little feminine touches I’ve made in our garden?

Aww what a gorgeous little patio set :)

I bought a similar wooden set from Morrisons for £35 a few weeks back, teamed with £7 half price homebase seat pads, i’ve been enjoying the sunshine for 2 weeks :)
