DUNGAREE DRESS

August 20, 2013

. DUNGAREE DRESS .

Todays post is a sure fire sign that i’m already for the weekend. As anticipated, this week is an extremely manic one workwise, so today’s post is me channeling my inner child, pulling out my hair (kind of) and wishing it was the weekend and I was free to run around in child like clothes. Dungaree dresses are the only ensemble suitable for this kind of nostalgia …
This dress is actually a relatively new member of the mediamarmalade wardrobe party, and is a cute little Glamorous number which I got from Bank Clothing. I love a store that sells a mix of brands, a one stop shop for all your needs. As soon as I saw this dungaree dress on the bank website I new it was the one for me.
As I find with pretty much all Glamorous clothes, they’re EXTREMELY short. I don’t know whether it’s just me, but I constantly have my arse on show when I wear their clothes. As I wanted to wear this dungaree dress in the day time (and maintain my modesty), as part of a more casual and laid back look I decided to DIY it a little to make it more suitable for my needs. Basically I let the hem and allowed the dress to fall about an inch longer – problem solved. It actually gives the dress a bit of a unique twist too :)
. Glamorous dungaree dress c/o Bank . Topshop Breton Tee & Leather Shoes .
I styled the dress last weekend with my new Breton top from Topshop and my Topshop leather shoes. These are becoming my go to shoe at the moment, where the weather isn’t quite hot enough for strappy heeled sandals, but I want to wear something other than ankle boots they hit the spot perfectly. I also like how they give a look a little bit of a geek chic twist too.
I have to say my dungaree collection is growing vastly and I have a few more dungaree items to share with you all soon on my blog – a cute dungaree shorts look and I also have a cute oversized dungaree dress on the way too (Alexa style), which I think i’m going to love.
What do you think of the dungaree trend? Are you a fan of the look? How would you style a slightly more dressy dungaree dress like this?

Dungaree dresses were my favourite to wear as a child. Still like them now, although can’t find any which are of a decent length (tall girl alert!) lol

      Great blog post.
