FIVE YEAR FASHION FLASHBACK

August 9, 2013

. FASHION FLASHBACK .

I was recently asked by VoucherCodes.co.uk if i’d fancy helping them celebrate their five year anniversary by taking a trip down memory lane, and digging out some old outfits that I was sporting five years ago. I loved the idea of taking a look back at how fashion and my own style has changed over the last five years and I was keen to see if I’d be appalled or mildly impressed. Five years ago I was graduating from university, about to start my life in London … it feels like a lifetime ago.
Rather than try and find some super poor quality images taken on an old school compact to post on my blog for this post. I decided to think about my favourite items of clothing from five years ago, but more than that, those clothes that I still to this day absolutely adore and wear. A lot can change in five years, but in the fashion world ‘what comes around goes around’ and if you’re buying classics, there’s no reason to say in five years time you won’t still be wearing them too …
Below are my favourite golden oldies, five years old … and what?
I was pleasantly surprised to realise how many clothes I actually have that were bought years and years ago, that I still love and look forward to wearing now. These five items were largely all special buys which to this day I treat as ‘occasion’ garments. The french connection stud dress is my all time (EVER) favourite dress, bought for my University graduation it’s also been worn to every major event I’ve had since … media week awards, Richard Bransons wimbledon party, work events, weddings … you name it!!
If you fancy joining vouchercodes.co.uk’s five year fashion flash back and being in with the chance of winning tickets to Paris for taking part, then create your own five year flashback post.
What was your style like five years ago? How was your life and fashion sense changed over this time? DO you still have items, like me, that you still love even five years later?

Can totally identify with this. I always find that after a few years pass, I look back on old clothes and fall in love with them again! My favourite dress is definitely the studded one from French connection, it’s so cute! :)
