. HOLIDAYS .
Those of you who have read my blog for a while may recognise this picture from an old post of mine, a little holiday round up post from back in March when I spent the week in Egypt. I managed to get myself 10 days in between leaving my old job where i’d been for nearly 4 years and starting my new job which i’ve been doing for nearly 4 months now. It’s been a crazy old time over the last 4 months and when I think back I realise quite how much has happened, the end of an era, a new job, my boyfriend moving to london, moving out and moving in with eachother and I have to say a hell of a lot of work has been done over the last 4 months … not forgetting running this little old blog too.
I don’t really talk about my career on here, but when I do it’s usually highlighting the extremely work hard but play hard nature of the media industry. Whilst I get some lovely and fun perks (cue House Festival, chilling with Tom Odell, all day drinking in smart london bars, posh lunches, manis / pedis etc) – it’s never underserved.
As a comms director working on a global client with a huge portfolio of brands, the work load is rather hefty and for the last few months we’ve been working on annual plans which is always a busy period. It’s been an intense few months and I’ll be so glad when the late nights, stressful days and pounding headaches have passed and our work load settles a bit. There’s a few more weeks of it yet, i’m traveling to both Sweden and Paris next week (which is a little perk) for meetings but the end is in sight … and I have to say the thought of a summer holiday is really keeping me going.
I’m a huge holidayer (if you read my blog you’ll know), so whilst I have been skiing, to Egypt & Norway this year (plus Nice and Denmark with work), for me this is rather tame given we’re half way through the year and I really am missing my regular city breaks and a long summer holiday. I have two weeks booked off work for the end of September and I cannot wait to spend them unwinding, reading books, sunbathing and eating yummy foreign food … needed TLC.
Sorry that today’s post isn’t my usual style – i’ll be back on form tomorrow (where i’ll also announce the winner of my giveaway)

I haven’t been to Egypt in such a long time but that picture makes me want to grab my bikini, get on the plane and lay in that beautiful sea all day! xo
