You know you’ve found yourself a good investment piece when you’re PPW (price per wear) breaks the £1 mark or when said item gets used across multiple seasons (or even years too). This Reiss leather mini skirt was a Winter purchase of mine, an item I absolutely loved but had to really think about buying because of the price tag (£175). But 9 months on I know the item was a great purchase because not only did I get a lot of winter wear out of it, I’ve also had a lot of summer wear too (in fact it’s been one of my go-to summer skirts). And I think it’s going to become an AW14 staple for me too …

This Reiss mini was a serious good buy, whilst the price tag took a little adjusting to, it was worth it. Not only because I’ve got a LOT of wear out of this skirt, but also because of the quality. It’s a real leather mini which means it not only fits well, but lasts well too. I’ve worn this skirt a whole lot over the last few months, most recently teamed with my Zara Navy pumps & a simple Navy cami, the look is chic & sophisticated and perfect for work meetings (it’s another one of my power outfits).

Whilst i’m all for investment pieces & am forever trying to live by the ‘less is more’ mantra when it comes to shopping (it’s not currently working as i’m buying the investment pieces, but haven’t quite reigned in the volume of high street purchases yet), I’m also a sucker for a cheeky high street haul too. This faux leather beige bag is one of my latest purchases, along with my new playsuit featured in yesterdays post and a new Autumn trench which will be coming later this week, this bag formed part of a Zara shopping spree last week. An absolute bargain at £39.99, I loved the beige leather colourings, the gold zip details and the draw string design. I know it doesn’t rival my designer collection, but I loved the style of it and treated myself regardless. My quest for a minimalist capsule, investment piece based wardrobe continues, but in the mean time I’ll continue to squeeze in as many fabulous high street purchases as I possibly can.
