There’s something about spending the day in fabulous places which makes you want to dress fabulously for the occasion. Last weekend me and my London girls headed for a day out in Notting Hill, brunch at the Electric Diner followed by hours strolling around Westbourne Grove, browsing the beautiful designer stores and indulging in homemade blueberry scones & Gin Brambles in Granger & Co (whilst perving on a certain Mr Selfridge who was perched on the table next to us). I decided to use the occasion to dress in some of my new favourite things & roped my friends into taking some pictures (sterling effort wouldn’t you say?).

I’ve been absolutely obsessing over this printed playsuit which I picked up from Zara a couple of weeks back, I’ve worn it tons of times and you’ll have already seen it here on my blog. It’s the perfect playsuit, in my mind, easily styled down for an effortless bohemian daytime look or up for a chic evening out (following our day in Westbourne Grove we headed to Chelsea for dinner at Bluebird and I swapped my birks for a pair of killer heels & the playsuit worked perfectly for a night out).
I effectively used the day out to wear all my new clothes which I’ve been saving for the right occasion, I teamed my playsuit with my new French Connection sleeveless coat – an item i’ve been lusting after (as I have much of their new AW14 collection) for a long time now & finally gave in and bought last week (only for it to go half price in the sale this week – seriously, it happens ALL the time to me). And finished the look with my new ASOS fedora, an item you’ll have seen in lilac a number of times on my blog but one that I recently bought in grey too. My birks & Nano were the perfect finishing accessories, keeping the look super casual but suitably chic at the same time.
