. ROYAL BATH CRESCENT AFTERNOON TEA .
Last weekend we celebrated my mum’s 50th birthday in Bath enjoying a rather fabulous afternoon tea at the Royal Bath Crescent. It’s a favourite spa hotel of mine and after spending my 21st birthday there with all my family many years ago, it’s a little sanctuary that all the family love to return to when we have a good excuse.
The weather remained beautiful for our late afternoon tea, so we managed to sit out in the beautiful gardens and enjoy a whole array of sandwiches (your British favourites like salmon and dill, egg and cress, ham and mustard & of course cucumber), unbelievably tasty little cakes and treats and not to mention scones, clotted cream & jams, finished off with a special bath bun. As a gluten intolerant they put together a special little selection for me full of gluten free delights, including three macaroons which of course made my cake selection the real winner.
We had a fabulous day and I recommend anyone visit The Royal Crescent for a special occasion, whether it be afternoon tea with friends or family, a little weekend break if you’re celebrating something special (I stayed in my own little apartment in the gardens for my 21st which was just incredible, followed by champagne in the gardens and a bespoke 3 course meal in the Princes room overlooking the entire Crescent), or even a little spa day and some luxurious treatments. The Royal Crescent is a little sanctuary and you’d never expect the beautiful secret gardens, the super relaxing little spa area and the delicious restaurants which are hidden behind the big townhouse door entrance.
What are you favourite spa and afternoon tea hot spots?

This looks like such a lovely family day out – it has made me miss my family – they all live in various different countries these days – I’m the only one left in the UK! :(
Afternoon tea is just the best thing ever – those little rectangular pink and chocolate cakes look INCREDIBLE!
