Autumn is one of my favourite times, burnt orange & red leaves scattering the streets, gorgeous crisp coldness juxtaposed by blue skies & beaming sunshine, and of course the festive feeling which starts to fill the air. It’s also a finny time of year, particularly when it comes to fashion. Not yet winter but no longer summer, it’s a contradiction of extreme cold & luke warm, making sartorial life a little tricky to master. The key, in my opinion, is to be agile. Adjust day by day adapting to whatever the weather is throwing, don’t separate your wardrobe as Summer and Winter, simply layer & repurpose your favourite items for whatever Autumn throws.

Usually Autumn requires you to layer up, but this last week or so has had some gloriously pleasant days thrown amongst torrential rains & heavy winds (I almost got blown off my feet last Tuesday). But amongst the extremities have been a couple of warmer days, where the sun peaks through & you get a little reminder that summer is not quite yet done!
Days like this mean my winter furs & thick black tights go straight back in the wardrobe, and bare legs & sunglasses are more topical. Last week I styled my Topshop shirt dress, which i’d previously featured here seriously layered up for some colder days, with simply ankle boots & a little fedora. The sun was peaking through the overcast skies giving us a great opportunity to capture some pictures before heading home for the day. Too many pictures I know, but it’s too hard to pick!
