THE SHIRT DRESS

Going back to something I mentioned in yesterdays post, all about my love for things oversized lately, I didn’t just buy my oversized grey blazer in my Topshop shopping spree, I also picked up this tencel shirt dress and of course my teddy bear coat (officially called the faux fur bonded throw on coat) which i’ve not stopped wearing. I absolutely like the oversized trend for a couple of reasons, firstly you can wear it no matter how you feel, there’s no clingy, tight, or restrictive materials, it’s free flowing so is an easy go to style if you’re not feeling in the mood for flaunting your body. Secondly of course, is just how effortless the oversized style looks. And if theres one thing i’m forever striving to pull off, it’s effortless!

I’ve actually worn this dress quite a lot since I bought it, both styled up and down through layering additional items. I featured the dress in this post teamed with my Brandy Melville knit jumper, but have also been wearing it on it’s own with ankle boots (my Office Mercy Chelsea pony affect ankle boots) and my oversized Topshop throw on fur coat too. This outfit is the kinda look i’ll be living in this Autumn, innately effortless but still chic and suitable for work, weekends out with friends and even dinner dates too with a pair of heels & a bold clutch bag (stay tuned for that).
