. REISS SHORT SUIT & PHILLIP LIM PASHLI .
If you follow me on any of my social channels, twitter, instagram, Facebook et al, then it won’t have escaped you that i’m currently out of the country catching some rays and exploring the AUE. I’ve been looking forward to this holiday for a while now, not only the chance to visit both Abu Dhabi and Dubai (Dubai for the second time) but also for a break away from work. Although as ever there’s no rest for the wicked as I couldn’t leave my little old blog behind. I didn’t have time to schedule 11 days of posts this time around, so instead i’m blogging daily from a new mobile HQ (currently my hotel room in Abu Dhabi)! The plus side of that means I get to share lots of real time looks & rewind back to a more summery wardrobe!
. REISS AMAR & ADA SHORT SUIT . PHILLIP LIM PASHLI MEDIUM IN STORM . ZARA PATENT PUMPS .
Our first night in Abu Dhabi was one to be celebrated, so my dad and I got our glad rags on and headed to the Corniche, to the Etihad Towers for some cocktails on the 62nd floor (vertigo much) and some delicious japanese at the infamous Tori No Su. I decided it was the perfect occasion to bring my Reiss short suit back out to play. I bought this in the summer as a real treat to myself and so it’s nice to have an excuse to wear it again! I styled it with a simple navy cami, my Zara pumps …. oh and my new indulgence …
I bought the Phillip Lim Pashli!!
I’ve been debating buying this bag for absolutely months, i’ve talked about it on my blog again and again and phoned every single Phillip Lim Boutique globally trying to buy the darned thing in the specific colour I wanted, browsed every UK and US stockist on a weekly basis (in fact, my friends at work found my constant phone calls to the store most hilarious). Sadly with no trips to the US planned myself and no bags in the colours I wanted stocked in the new UK ANYWHERE, I put my Lim dreams to the side for a while. Although it wasn’t all sadness as I did in fact give in and buy another dream bag of mine (along with Chanel 2..5 / Boy & Saint Lauren Sac Du Jour dreams), the Celine Nano! I opted for the Celine over the Pashli in the end, as it was just such a quality, classic and beautiful bag (sadly three times the price though – sorry bank), but it seems that my love affair with Phil wasn’t ready to be put to bed just yet. I’ve not stopped longing for the Pashli and when my Auntie told me she was heading to NYC last week I decided now was my chance … I placed my order and she hit the shops on my behalf. I was due a little celebratory shopping due to some exciting work news (more on that soon) so this was a reward for myself for the hard work i’ve put in! I debated long and hard between the feather and storm colours of the Pashli, but it was a resounding 10/10 to the Storm in the end (it’s the perfect colour for all year round). I am so so chuffed to finally have this beautiful bag in my collection, it’s a very different bag to the Celine and also my Mulberry’s (Emmy, Bayswater, Holly) so i’ll be getting good use out them all! The bag was $825 + tax + fee’s in the US, so around £580 versus £725 – £795 UK RRP, so a little bit of a bargain (ahem) too!!
I’ve been using it every day on holiday & it worked perfectly with my Reiss short suit on day one in Abu Dhabi!
Are you a fan of the Pashli?
