. HOME INSPIRATION BOOKS .
It’s been a while since I shared some new reads with you all, whilst i’m away on holiday and should probably be sharing some great holiday chick lits (I have lots to recommend, Jill Mansell – The Unpredictable Consequences of Falling In Love, Jo Jo Moyes – Me Before You & Cecilia Ahern – How to Fall In Love, to name but a few) I actually thought i’d share some fab home inspiration books i’ve been adding to my hard back collection over the last few months.
First up is a book i’ve already mentioned in this feature here, Creative Living London by Emily Wheeler. It’s a book I bought a while back but a book that i’ve also seen in a few home boutique stores lately, which reignited my interest and got me re-reading. I say reading, but more flicking and taking mass amounts of home decor inspiration. This book is jam packed full of creative home decor ideas, beautiful imagery and inspired by some serious names on the London scene. This book has been my main source of home inspiration for a while now, but in the last few weeks i’ve added a couple of new releases to my book shelves … Kitchenalia by Vinny Lee & Modern Country Home by Caroline Clifton Mogg.
Now these books are ones for you die hard home decor fanatics. Slightly more specialist than my Country Living London bible, but equally as oozing with inspiration, lust worthy homes and home decor ideas. I’ll start with Kitchenalia, this book is what it says on the tin, kitchens. But not just any standard kitchen, oh no no no. This book is full of pinterest worthy kitchens, ranging from the most rustic country chic agar filled kitchen, to the funkiest 70’s modern art deco design. If you like me believe the kitchen is the heart of the home, then you’ll love a good snoop through this book! Secondly of course is Modern Country Home, another book with an uncanny title which sums up just what it’s about. Modern, Country, Homes. My favourite type of home too, think barn renovation, Grand Design worthy, dream home, you’re just about there. This book is fabulous if you’re looking for full on home living inspiration, not just interiors, but architectural design too! I’ve been folding corners on my favourite homes in hope that one day Jase (who is in fact an Architect) may one day make me my dream home …
So there you are, three books for ultimate home decor lust and inspiration. They’re joining my style & foodie books in my Victorian shelved alcoves. Book by book i’m filling this space with unlimited inspiration … and given a new Anthropologie has just opened up in Richmond, it’s only going to be a matter of time before I’ve bought every beautiful hard back on sale. Send help!
Are there any home decor books which you love and recommend checking out?

Hi there, when I brought my flat last year I brought tons of those home décor books. I spent hours and hours reading, flicking, scanning the photos. Most of my idea I ended up not doing (due to money and restriction) but I got a nice scrapbooks of all my ideas on what to do in the future.

You know, I never think about buying these types of books for myself as I spend so much time looking at tumblr / blogs / pinterest but with a new house on the cards this is a really good idea.Do you think american style books translate over here, or do you prefer books from London?

I love home décor! I’m in France at the moment and discovered a few mags (they’re by the same editor) coming every other month. They’re called Vintage House, Shabby Style and another one. Really like it!
