I’ve always been a fan of tartan trousers and last season I picked up this pair from Zara. I never gave them quite as much wear as I had perhaps hoped, partly due to the straight rather than skinny leg. But this year i’ve found a new way to wear them and one that works far better with the cut, and that’s teamed with a pair of killer pumps. My Zara tartan trousers teamed with my patent navy pumps worked like a dream & made the trousers much more ‘wearable’!

I decided to exaggerate the dark navy tones in the trousers & pumps with my COS sweater & my new Zelda trilby hat from Reiss. The top to toe navy is a little twist on the standard top to toe black, and feels a little more autumnal & suited to this time of year!
I’m really starting to get that festive feeling now and with only 2 days left at work before I head home for the Christmas break I couldn’t be more excited (and tired)! I’ve still got a bit of Christmas shopping to do so i’ll be spending the weekend & early next week lapping up the shops & hopefully unwinding after a rather crazy 2014!
