STYLE LIMITS

February 27, 2015

ASOS Suede Skirt

. STYLE LIMITS .

I’m always pushing my style limits as much as possible, not necessarily because I want to be bold and different, but more because I fall in love with a style or a look and want to sport it for myself. Whether that be cigarette trousers which I became obsessed with last year, but never thought i’d be able to pull off, or something a little more wild like this suede mini and suede knee high boot combo. I’m not sure it’s something i’ve actually pulled off quite as well as I had hoped, but that’s the way it goes sometimes right?

. ASOS YELLOW SUEDE SKIRT . MONKI CREAM JUMPER . DUNE TRISH KNEE HIGH BOOTS .

I’ve been obsessed with my yellow suede skirt since I picked it up earlier this year, but i’ve never worn it styled slightly more for spring. AKA. minus the tights. So thought i’d give that a go last week when the sun snuck out, and having also become seriously obsessed with over the knee boots (Stuart Weitzman Highland boots, please be mine) decided to try the combo out together. Now i’ve been inspired by tons of mini skirt / knee high boot combos, but I think in this instance the bumble bee colour clash may have been a little too much, and I think my boots are a little too low on the thigh for this look, but it was fun giving it a little whirl. I’m now desperate for a black suede A line skirt as I think that would work absolutely perfectly in a  look like this.

I’m really starting to get in the mood for Spring now, i’ve been placing a few cheeky orders online and have a wish list thats currently topping £10,000 (that is worryingly no word of a lie … blame the Chloe Drew Bag & Acne Velocite jacket – in white – which are tipping the scales). Whilst I certainly won’t be getting all that’s on my wish list, I have ordered a few fab new bits which I can’t wait to share with you on mediamarmalade.com.

Are you getting into a spring style mood right now, what’s on your wish list?

Totally know what you mean – I want to wear more red and certain shapes, even try 70s even though I’m not sure it’s 100% me, got to be daring!

I’m so excited for all the pastels that come with spring! I’d love to get my hands on a pair of over-the-boots to stock away for next winter. Also, since spring is the season of rain it’d be the perfect time to finally purchase a pair of Hunter Wellington’s, right? You look great! Have a fabulous weekend.

Yellow suede + black suede + white looks really refreshing. I got used to dark natural shades of suede, so this yellow one is eye-opening to me!
