When it comes to Autumn (or fall) style, there’s one item that is a genuine staple, and that is of course a classic, quality, wool cream knit jumper. It’s easy to pick up tons of poly-fibre high street knits for Autumn, in chic new styles that encapsulate all the latest AW15 trends … but in my opinion when it comes to knitwear a classic, quality knit that serves you year on year is all you really need. I actually got my first ‘investment’ knit last Christmas, from my dad who gave me this gorgeous Rag & Bone knit Valene jumper for Christmas. It’s an investment piece, one you wouldn’t buy on a whim, but one that has served me well season upon season, and today looks as ‘on point’ as it did last year.

You will have already seen it in yesterdays style diary post teamed with my off duty mom jeans, but as well as that laid back fall style, it also makes for the perfect, chic dressier ensemble too. This wool skirt from COS is the perfect pairing, with juxtaposing colours and textures making the outfit look unbelievably fall worthy, and importantly feel Autumn ready too. The skirt is a number I also picked up last season, as an investment skirt, and wore so much I decided to buy another colour this season too. It’s a classic, wool, A line number which works perfectly with an oversized knit like this, or equally a fitted roll neck and black booties for an evening out.

Yes to cream-colored knit sweaters. They are so classic and they go with so many things, it’s hard to go wrong with wearing one in the colder months. I absolutely love your Rag and Bones sweater. Looks so comfy!
