TRYING TO KEEP A POSITIVE MINDSET
Just when something goes well in life, something else starts to crumble. Don’t you always find that? It’s easy to get down, find yourself feeling helpless, confused, or down even when your faced with a challenging situation or a negative period in life, but it’s important to keep your chin up, remember all the good things and most importantly work your way back to positivity. Even in the most tricky situations (a break up, a job loss, a house buy gone wrong, a failed car test, a terrible exam etc), there’s always hope and an opportunity to get back on track, back feeling positive & back in a strong mindset. Today I thought I’d share 5 ways that help me to keep a positive mindset, when I’m tackling one of those life lemons.

5 WAYS TO KEEP A POSITIVE MINDSET, IN A TRICKY SITUATION
These are my little tips and tricks for keeping a positive mindset & pulling myself back to a positive place in those times of difficulty.
#1 ACCEPT & UNDERSTAND
First of all, if something has gone wrong or something has happened to challenge your positivity, stop and take check. What’s happened, why has it gone wrong, and most important how can you move forward. Sometimes simply just accepting and understanding what’s causing you to feel the way you do, is the first step in moving towards a more positive mindset.
I love a bit of perspective. For me it’s the saving grace in any situation, when you’re feeling down, negative, or stressed, simply give yourself a little perspective, before long you’ll have a different outlook on the situation, a realisation that things aren’t as bad as they could be, and that of course you’ll find a way to get through it. Perspective is sometimes hard to see, but it’s so important to find.
#3 FIVE THINGS
One of my favourite ways to feel positive and channel a positive mindset, is by thinking of all the positives in my life, the things i’m grateful for, the things I have to look forward to, the things that bring me happiness. It doesn’t matter how big or small, the morning coffee is enough to bring a glimmer of positivity into your mind. Most importantly it stops the negative thoughts and replaces your mind with positivity.
#4 TALK IT OUT
Talking is good. I always think talking helps clear the mind, find solutions and just take a big weight from your shoulders. More often than not simply sharing your thoughts and feelings with someone else, someone you love and trust, or a complete stranger, can help bring clarity, good advise and a more positive mindset to move things forward. Grab a cuppa, get comfy and simply let it all out. Bridget Jones style. If you don’t like talking … try writing instead.
#5 BE POSITIVE
If you want to feel positive. Be positive. Sometimes simply changing your attitude and actions to start acting and being more positive (smiling, saying thank you, being kind etc) can make the whole world of difference. When you’re feeling down, smile, laugh, buy someone a coffee, thank the person who held the door, give some change to charity … just do positive acts, and before you know it you’ll have a positive mind.
