I am a big lover of quality designed and well produced clothes and accessories, genuinely I believe you can tell a significant difference between well crafted garments and cheaper alternatives, similarly you can’t beat a classic designers style, there’s just something about the mimics and ‘cheaper’ products that often (not always) doesn’t work. Material clearly is a huge variable in this, and you can tell the difference between suede and polystyrene, leather and plastic, some cheap high street bargains really do lack that quality material that makes a product or item stand out. I do fully believe this. However, sometimes you can find a little loophole in the equation, here’s mine …
. Primark Dip Dye Blouse £10 . Primark Gold Chain Necklace £3 . H&M Suede Jacket .
. Topshop Skinnies . Boohoo Snakeskin Heels .
I’m no snob, but admittedly I’m not a full time bargain hunter and Primark hauler. I shop across the market place and mix high street and designer (where I can afford it). I’m by no means stocked up with a full designer closet, but I do appreciate a good, well produced designer hand bag (Mulberry, Miu Miu, Prada) and the quality fashion picks you can get in Reiss, French Connection and Chloe. I’m by no means head to toe Chanel & Jimmi Choo (in fact, couldn’t be further from it at all – I’m a Zara, Mango and Topshop lover at heart). However every now and then, I’ll take an excited trip down to my local Primark & New Look and I’m never let down.
This weekend was no different. I’ve already shared my bargain finds (here) … but I’m not kidding, as much as money does buy you better quality and sometimes design, there are some seriously fantastic finds to be had on the high street at actually, genuinely good prices. It just takes that little hunt to rummage through the crap to find the shining gems which really look like they should be £40 in Zara and not £10 in Primark.
This outfit is one of those, this blouse was a total find in Primark, £10 measly squid, and Im not going to lie, I LOVE IT. I wore it to work this week and had many a compliment. When I shared my investment, no one could believe this is from Primark and had cost me so little. The thing I love about a find like this is, style it with your other fave pieces and you can create an amazing outfit and transform an otherwise bargain find.
So yes, revelation or not, sometimes it’s worth just giving a little praise to those who help feed our fashion addictions along the way, without breaking the bank each time.
What do you think of today’s look, do you like my Primark picks (top and necklace)? I’ve styled it with my current faves and am actually quite pleased with the look :)

I love this look, I have to say I am Primark fan, purely because I don’t have the money to spend on expensive items, but your so right about investment, items that I have paid more for have definitely lasted me much longer x

I dont like primark because I dont enjoy shopping over there..its too crowded. However, for the price given the clothes are fine.I mean you can wear it for a year and then give it away ;)Your pictures are great :)

I do love Primark for a look-a-like bargain. I’m not really snobbish about labels, more about quality and material (like I’m not mad about polyester).

I love this outfit, everything just works so well together and that top is really pretty :)
I totally believe in investment pieces but sometimes you just need a little bit of cheaper variety ;)

Completely agree usually you can tell a quality difference but with that top + jacket they could easily be ‘high-end’ they’re both beautiful and look gorgeous teamed together. You have a lovely sense of style!

Its a lovely top, love your wedges too! If I had a bigger budget I am sure I would go designer but not for everything. I love shopping highstreet and often find more wearable immitations. Primark can often be great, whenever I see something I just think, hold out a little while and Primark will come up trumps!

I do love Primark but completely agree that you need a good rummage, especially in the one in my town as it’s pretty much laid out like a jumble sale.
However you’ve manage to find something great with this top, you look lovely : )
