REMEMBER WHY YOU STARTED AND BE SURE TO STILL HAVE FUN
A lot has changed since I started my blog ‘way back when’, back in 2010, 2011 blogging was a simply hobby a few people had, there was an incredible but small community of like minded people, and bcak then it was all just for fun. These days things have changed, blogging is a business, bloggers are brands and blogs are high tech glossy online editorials. Don’t get me wrong i think it’s absolutely incredible and something I’m so proud to be a part of. But it’s fair to say that with this transition from online journals to million pound businesses, sometimes we can forget why we all started. Sometimes we put pressure on our selves to be that huge success, Sometimes we forget to just have fun.
And that’s why today, I wanted to share my little tips and tricks for getting the fun back into blogging …
5 WAYS TO MAKE BLOGGING FUN AGAIN
#1 STOP PRESSURISING
I think one of the reasons we forget to have fun sometimes and sometimes feel like blogging has become a chore is because we put so much pressure on ourselves. Lets not forget there is no right or wrong, there is no industry standard, blogging is all about what you, your passions, your interests and your little www dot, so why are you putting pressure on yourself? Make a blogging schedule and a content plan that works with you, your time, your commitments and your life, and don’t put pressure on yourself to do anything other than that.
#2 STOP COMPARING
Oh the green eyed monster, sometimes he just can’t stay away. In my opinion pressure and self depreciation often stems from us comparing ourselves, our blog, our successes to others, we strive to achieve based on other peoples benchmarks. And it’s not helpful or productive. The moment you focus on yourself, your own goals and your own successes, you feel a lot less pressurised and you’ll have a lot more fun too.
#3 STOP COPYING (AND DO IT YOUR WAY)
There’s no right or wrong. Genuinely there’s not. You want to blog daily, fine. You want to blog monthly, cool. You want to blog about shoes only, go for it. You want to talk deep and personal, why not. The reason blogging is so popular and why blogs have become so highly demanded is because they’re full of integrity, of personality, of creativity and passion. Every blog is unique, individual, original, so embrace YOU, there’s a niche market out there for everyone. So just keep doing it your way. It’s what will bring you the most joy, and the most success.
#4 STOP SAYING YES
You know that feeling when you’ve over committed to projects, to events, to meetings and you just don’t know how to manage it all, pressure right? Well thats an easy one to resolve and to manage .. just stop saying yes to everything. Be selective, manage your time, keep your integrity by prioritising the most suitable projects. Saying yes to everything isn’t always the best way of doing things.
#5 STOP BLOGGING (FOR A BREAK)
And if you’re really struggling to find joy and fun in blogging, why not just stop. Not all together (unless that’s what you want), but just take a weekend, a week, a month, a year off. Whatever feels right. Whatever time you need to refresh yourself and rebuild that motivation and passion to start blogging again. No judgement. Its your life, your blog and your time. Don’t put pressure on yourself to keep on going, if really all you need is just a moment to breathe!
Et Voila. 5 Ways you can bring the fun back to blogging & get rid of that pressure sitting on your shoulders.

I like your point about comparing to other people’s benchmarks. That’s exactly what so many bloggers try to do and it’s not productive and doesn’t really help your own success. Loved reading these tips, thanks for sharing!

Great advice. I’ve only recently starting blogging but I find it so important to not get overwhelmed by comparing my blog to all the other blogs out there, and not to copy, just to do my own thing :)

Such a great post. I’m glad I’m not the only one that feels this way. I love blogging so much but I do often times find it stressing me out and worrying about why a post isn’t doing as good but it’s not what it’s about. I really do need to remember why I started in the first place!
Love this so much <3
