UNDERSTATED AW17 PARTY WEAR
Event dressing isn’t the easiest even at the best of times, sometimes you’ll get lucky and find a frock that ticks all your boxes and you can rely on time after time (I shared my ‘go to’ dress from the summer here), others it’s a case of constant bulk ordering and returns still desperate to find something that looks the part.
This whole charade is made even more traitorous as the seasons turn and we move into Autumn Winter event wear. Late summer & Autumnal weddings, the start of festive parties (I know i’m early guys, but seriously Christmas Festivities are just around the corner) … you know the drill right? There’s also the inevitable battle of modesty & keeping warm!
I for one favour a slightly more covered up and loose fitting look these days, those body con days are well passed and as for the mini cut, these legs are sadly not up to scratch for that (sob)! Which is why a slinky little number like this Mango silk dress is ideal. Covers the sins but still looks glamorous in an understated way!
SHOP MY AUTUMN EVENT WEAR EDIT
I actually wore this dress to Jase’s birthday dinner a few months ago, it’s surprising how the weather made it feel and look so autumnal, even in July. But none the less, this dress will be a strong ‘go to’ in the next month or so of work events, Christmas drinks & festive celebrations. It’s also super easily styled day to night, or work to event if you will, which for me is absolutely essential!
Also on a total side note, thank you to ALL of you who read my six year bloggging anniversary post and filled in my blog questionnaire (if not there’s still time and I’d love your feedback). I’ve been taking your feedback on already – I’ve upped the font size to 15 so it’s easier to read my posts and I’ve already tried to show a little more of the ‘daily grind’ (on instagram) after a few of you asked to see a little more of the everyday life and suggested it would be nice to see a bit more of ‘me’! So if you follow me on instagram (if not, come and join the crew here) then you’ll notice I’ve been really upping the stories game & trying to share a bit more of the daily grind. I’m not sure I could ever be a vlogger, but stories is helping me dip my toes in the water.
So if you want some lol’s or fancy cringing at someone attempting to walk and talk to a phone, then you’re in for a treat!

Are you all on board the shift back to more ‘real life’ on blogs and instagram? Would love to know your thoughts?
