Outfit

Black Widow

September 4, 2012

Today marks 1 week since my departure to the sun sea and sand, and I do hope that you’ve received your daily posts as I’ve planned. Scheduling took a hell of a lot of work and inflicted some extreme tiredness on me … but i’m really hoping it pays off. So marking one week of scheduled delivery, I here by bring you another little outfit post. Featuring a couple of my items purchased with my £100 prize fund moola (from winning the style compare challenge).

Against my usually better judgement, whilst picking these items I had a complete change of direction in my choice of clothes. I was originally going for lot’s of little unique items – playsuits, bra lets, silky tunics you know the score. But then panic hit me when I realised how much of all this stuff I already had … doh. So I decided to go a little more functional and the bulk of my moola went on this Topshop black blazer & grey peplum top.
. H&M PU Leather Shorts . Topshop Blazer & Peplum . Marni H&M Heels .
Thankfully I’ve got muchus wear out of these items already, so I think I made a good call here. Timeless classics don’t you think. I decided for this outfit to style the blazer and top with leather shorts … risky I know. Its a sort of twist on the female suit, but slightly more glam / edgy. Despite my sincere love for these leather shorts I very rarely get to wear them, or at least choose to wear them, as they’re a little short for work (okay, completely inappropriate for work), and a little formal for day wear … basically they’re perfect for a night out & so I clearly just need to get partying more :) I do really like them styled in this way though, and so if I ever found a pair a little longer I may well attempt this as a work look. I’ll keep you posted on that one :)
What do you think of this outfit and the styling of more classic items with a little bit of an edgy twist?
