    THE CROP FUR JACKET

    Crop Fur Jacket

. ZARA BLUE FUR CROPPED JACKET .

I’ve got a penchant for outerwear, coats of all styles. It wasn’t something I ever really planned to have a  penchant for, nor ever plotted to build up a museum worthy collection of. It’s just something that seems to have happened over the last few years. Season on Season I seem to collect an additional 4 – 5 coats or jackets. I just can’t seem to resist buying them when I find one I love. This Zara fur cropped jacket has is one of my newest members.

The fur jacket will always be one of my favourites, who can resist looking like a big furry bear, totally warm and snuggly. It’s my favourite winter coat. I have a few to my name (as I’m sure you’ve well noticed) but surprisingly I didn’t own a blue cropped one. And that just wouldn’t do. When I spotted this Zara one before christmas in store I knew I needed it. There’s something quite glamorous and statement about a big, blue, fur cropped jacket.

Despite my instant love, and swift purchase as it hit sales on Christmas Day, it’s a coat i’ve actually not worn that much, as i’ve slightly struggled in styling the number for a more everyday look. It’s such a statement number that it almost needs to be saved for nights out or special occasions.

Fashion Week is clearly all about pushing your fashion boundaries though, so it was only right I gave the jacket another whirl, and this time in a rather colour coordinated ensemble. Blue cigarette trousers, my patent blue pumps, and of course the blue jacket, broken up by a cosy cream knit … else i’m pretty sure i’d be mistaken as a character from Monsters Inc.

Are you a cropped fur jacket wearer? How would yo style a statement coat like this?

SUN DOWN X FRENCH CONNECTION AW14

    . FRENCH CONNECTION AW14 COLLABORATION .

Well I’m back from my sunshine escapades after 11 nights of pure sunshine, blue skies & seriously clear turquoise seas. If you follow me on instagram (if not, WHY NOT, do it immediately right here) then of course you’ll know this already, after all I piped on about it considerably. Coming home from holiday is no fun for anyone, particularly when you’ve had the most incredible relaxing and brilliant time, but if there’s one thing that made coming home slightly more bare able for me, it’s that today I get to share a special collaboration which i’ve been working on with one of my most favourite brands. French Connection.

    . FRENCH CONNECTION SONIA TROUSERS £89 & BOXY JACKET £120 ℅ .

    . BIRKENSTOCK ARIZONAS £65 . ZARA CAMI . DANIEL WELLINGTON SHEFFIELD £169 .

One of the best things about writing a blog is getting the chance to collaborate with your favourite brands. You’ll all know how much I love French Connection given how many of their clothes I buy and sport within my outfit pictures on my blog, including my most recent feature showcasing my new Sweetie Mix dress which I picked up before my holidays. Needless to say, i’m pretty chuffed to be working with them to support their new AW14 collection & in today’s feature showcase this darned awesome androgynous grey marl trouser suit which is from their new range.

Trouser (or short) suits are pretty much my new favourite thing, it’s the co-ord to the next level. Whilst the androgynous look isn’t something you’d naturally team with my curvy frame, it’s something I will not let biology stop me from playing with. If anything the tailoring on this gorgeous two piece shows how you can sport a trouser suit, even if you have an hour glass shape. The high waist, super tailored cigarette trousers create the perfect silhouette and still showcase a waist (which is a godsend for me). The jacket is boxy, and cropped … need I say more. What more could you possibly want.

Knowing how to style a trouser suit can be a bit of a minefield, but I teamed mine with a simple cami and my new Birkenstock Arizona’s to give the look an understated and laid back vibe. I sported this look whilst away on my holibobs, and managed to rope Jase into catching some pics at sundown outside our little suite which had the most gorgeous views overlooking Agios Nikolaos. As much as he complains, he certainly does take a good snap. The lighting is perfect, I only wish I could nab this backdrop for all my pictures!

Stay tuned for another AW14 FCUK style feature coming shortly, i’m already eyeing up a zillion things from the new range which I’m desperate to add to my wardrobe. This AW14 drape trench is actually infiltrating my dreams I love it so much & these white gathered trousers are so freakin’ cool. Only two days until pay day …

What do you think of this boxy androgynous trouser suit? Are you a French Connection lover too?

  • A World Of Prints

    A World Of Prints

Over recent times I’ve become a bit of a print coveter, I first embraced the trend to it’s full extent last year when floral trousers hit the high street and I nabbed myself a couple of pairs from Topshop. They were great buys, and after my initial fear of looking like a multicoloured douche walking down the street,  I soon started a fabulous love affair with all things print.

I’ve got a few print items in my wardrobe now, numerous pairs of printed trousers (including my latest H&M ones), some bold print  skirts including a fave blue embroidered number from Zara,  and finally a few print blazers too. Obviously not to mention my scarfs … probably one of the ‘original’ printed garments out there. But I don’t believe you can ever have enough print in your wardrobe, because lets face it, they’re all so different. That’s the beauty of it, prints are so unique, original, varying that no matter what your taste, I’m sure there’s a print out there you’ll fall in love with too.
. Uniqlo Print Trousers £14.90 c/o . Topshop Black Vest, Leather Jacket & Fedora .
    . Marni Heels . Brit-Stitch Satchel .
Recently Uniqlo have paired with Celia Birtwell, A British textiles designer, to create a beautifully inspired print collection, covering everything from tunic dresses to printed leggings. The range has some amazing pieces, and the range of prints is quite mind boggling, every item comes in various different colour palettes and print designs so there’s really something for everyone. Probably the best thing about the range is the cost, if you thought Primark was value, then you’d be amazed by Uniqlo. Quality and a bargain, a perfect combination.
I wore these trousers at the weekend and immediately fell in love with them, i love the cut (fitted and cropped) and i’m really chuffed with the print I picked too. As the trousers are quite a statement, I opted for a simple black top, black fedora and leather jacket to go with them, and decided my Marni heels would go perfectly with the cropped length of the trousers. I can’t wait for more sunshine so I can wear this outfit again soon.
What do you think of these printed trousers and how I’ve styled them in this outfit? Are you a fan of prints?

  • Another In That Same Direction

    Another In That Same Direction

So there was me, taking a leap of courage into my first ever print trousers outfit, admittedly falling in love immediately, but still a novice in the act, taking little baby steps at a time …. when another pair of gorgeous print trousers landed on my door step. It’s like i’m meant to be print trouser adorned or something.

These gorgeous trousers were sent to my the amazing Lavish Alice. After browsing the site and falling in love with these print trousers and a matching bralet I was over the moon to wake up to the postman at my door delivering me these beauts before work on Wednesday. Naturally I whipped them on immediately and wore them the same day, good effort right.
    . Lavish Alice Print Trousers £33 (C/O) . Daniel Footwear Ash Sandals . Zara Peplum . H&M Necklace .
A little annoyingly I’ve actually been sent a size too big which did mean after walking to the tube they’d stretched and were definitely way too big (you can’t tell at all in these pics thankfully as they were fresh on). BUT having said that, I still love them and so will probably hot wash them every time I want to wear them to shrink them a little :)
The matching bra let is also INCREDIBLE, and a perfect fit. I decided wearing a crop top to work would be inappropriate (doh) so styled them with a chic cream peplum instead. I’m going to wear the bralet this weekend with my disco pants and / or  a high waist skirt. Keep your eyes peeled for the outfit post to follow.
Today my friend from Norway is coming over, so we have a full and busy weekend lined up which I’m looking forward to. I have finally written my Laurens way review and this will be going live tomorrow for you all :) I’m also getting my hair done Sunday so my dreadful roots will be gone gone gone. hoorah.
What do you think of these print trousers, do you like the smarter styling for work? How do you like this look compared to my casual print trouser post (here).
