Trinkets & Treasures

October 14, 2012

Happy Sunday Guys. Today’s outfit post is what I wore when Jase and I went strolling around Clifton Village yesterday. The outfit features my new Pull&Bear leather skirt which I ordered last week after discovering the online store (yes, slow I know) and a few of my other fave new pieces for AW.

. Pull & Bear Leather Skirt £22 . River Island Parka £55 . H&M Fur Stole £12 . Mulberry Bag £795 .
. Topshop Grey Tee £12 . Dune Wedges (old) . Primark Necklace (old) .
I can’t believe quite how slow I was to discover the pull & bear site. But after reading (one of my absolute fave blogs) ‘My Showroom’ and seeing the skirt on their a few times, I decided I really wanted it. It’s super short, and I don’t ever tend to wear skater style skirts, but despite that I do really like it (and for £22 I have no complaints). I styled it really simply with  my Topshop grey marl tee, my River Island parka (which got lots of compliments) and my new fur stole (and my usual Mulberry handbag too).
We had a really nice stroll around the village, browsing in all the antiques stores & clothing boutiques.  I found the most amazing cream coat, but at £380 I had to say good bye quite briskly. If you follow me on Instagram (mediamarmalade) you may have seen a few snaps from the day. I love Clifton, it’s so chic and full of amazing tiny stores, you can easily loose the day wondering around.
We also stopped off in one of the many amazing cafes for a bite to eat and a cup of coffee. The Arches is quoted to be the best deli cafe in the UK so we were thoroughly well fed. I bought lunch and went a bit wild when ordering as everything looked so good. We had a New Yorker Deli sandwich (pastrami, sauerkraut & emmanteal – mmmm) & a mixed platter. The food was amazing & we were totally stuffed by the time we left.
There was also a really cute Autumn food market going on in the lanes & I loved looking at all the yummy autumn veg. Not to mention the pumpkins  (we love halloween in my family).
I mentioned the antiques  … well clifton is absolutely full of them. I love browsing all the antiques furniture & trinket jewellery pieces , i found some amazing kitchen furniture that Jase & I just fell in love with (just need to get a kitchen first) & a gorgeous tall antiques mirror which I’d have loved to bought for my room. Sadly it would have been too big to get back to London in my little car, so instead I settled for some cute gold & pearl vintage earings. They were only £1 so a total bargain.
So there you go, a long read for a cosy Sunday afternoon. I’ve included lots of pictures as I always like seeing other peoples lifestyle snaps as well as outfit pictures. I’ve also been playing with my pictures to make them much lower pixels, I’ve had a few people tell me my site loads slowly for them (sob sob) so I’m hoping this may help. Let me know?
What are you all up to this cosy Autumnal Sunday? Do you like my outfit & how I styled my leather skirt for the day? I’d love to know how you’d wear it?
