Outfit

Make It Sparkle

November 20, 2012

About a year ago I was reading a fave blog of mine – cats and rocking chairs written by a blogger named Morven (sadly it doesn’t exist anymore – boo) and I saw an amazing outfit post which has left me, for an entire year, lusting after a gold sequin skirt. Last Christmas she did some work with Mango and got to style their sequin skirt. I absolutely fell in love with this skirt, and was totally sold on the prospect of styling a glamorous skirt casually as Morven had done. This was revolutionary to me, I’d never thought to style something so dressy or ‘going out’ ish in such a casual day wear manner. Anyway, I popped into Mango pretty much daily last winter considering buying the skirt, but resisted as I was just not sure i’d get enough wear out of the skirt.
Fast forward one year, and I’ve bloody given in. I can’t resist this bad boy any longer. I absolutely love sequins, if you can’t already tell, and now it’s all cold and Christmassy I thought it would be rude not to embrace my dream gold sequin skirt.
I had planned all year how I’d style this, and I didn’t change a thing. Cream knit & gold sequin skirt. A combination made in heaven I do believe. I love this outfit and I will be rocking this at every opportunity I have. It’s suitably glitzy but definitely not too overdressed for day wear which I think is fab.
The best thing about this skirt has to be the price though, at £18 it’s an absolute steal :)
. Krisp Clothing Sequin Skirt £17.99 (C/O) . Zara Knit Jupmer £24 . Marni H&M Heels . H&M Fur Stole .
So last night was the Motel Rocks Christmas event, now i’ll do a whole post on this separately – hopefully Thursday, but I just wanted to say I had an absolutely fab evening, met so many lovely bloggers & we got spoilt with all the goodies available. I spent the evening with Charlene (Strutt) and Lucy (lultrixabelle) getting suitably merry, having fake eyelashes put on and picking our fave items from the new collection. We had a really good evening, and it was lovely to meet lots of people who read my blog and who’s blogs I read :)
What do you think of this outfit? Do you like the casual styling of the glitzy skirt? How would you style this skirt for a day look?

I love the skirt! I don’t really have a differentiation between my going out stuff and day stuff, just styling them in different ways! I love what you’ve done with this! :) x

I really love dressing sequins down for daytime, I have a couple of sequin shrugs / jackets which I sometimes try to get away with as day wear. I love how you’ve styled this skirt, it looks great!
