I gave a little glimpse of this outfit on New Years day, but here’s the full monty for you all. This is what I wore on New Years eve 2012. The dress is a Topshop number that’s been hanging in my wardrobe desperately awaiting an opportunity to be worn.
I decided to style the dress with big clumpy platform ankle boots and sparkly socks to match the dress. I went very simple on jewellery with a little gold bangle from H&M and some earings from Primark. As the dress is quite glamorous I didn’t want to over do the styling of it, as I was heading to my friend Kat’s (Jemimaandted) for dinner and cocktails so didn’t want to rock up looking OTT. I love that simple accessories can completely alter the look of an outfit.

I’m useless at makeup, so this is just a heavier version of what I wear every day basically. I added a little gold to the inners of my eyes and my new Chanel lippy – but other than that’s it’s just my usual makeup including Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser, Dr Perricone concealer, Mac / Benefit bronzer, Clinique blush & my Twlight Bobbi Brown pallette for the eyes. I went for a smokey eye look and topped up my eyeshadow with a sprinkle of gold from my Georgio Armarni eye pot. Mascara wise I used my clinique black mascara & the lippy is from the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet range (I can’t remember the exact colour sorry).
NYE and Christmas feels like so long ago already, but i’m keeping myself going in the knowledge that I’m off skiing on Sunday for a week – hooray :)

Wowee you look gorgeous in that dress! I’ve tried the nude version on with the sparkly gold weaved through and loved it, just wasn’t too sure when I’d ever find an occasion to wear it!
Definitely agree that it’s so good how you can make something like a really glam dress but make it more casual with certain accessories. You pull it all off perfectly :)
