Outfit

The Cherry Topping

February 1, 2013

Today’s post is a funny one really, an outfit that be could rather glamorous, but instead is styled down to keep me cosy and warm in this nippy old weather. Sometimes it’s nice to include a little juxtaposition in your outfits, spice things up and go against the norm. It’s sort of like boyfriend jeans and stiletto heels, an LBD with a biker leather jacket, leather trousers and a worn ripped T. I always admire people who mix things up in this way, and so this look is my own version of it really.

I wore this out one evening for a super casual dinner , I wanted to wear something dressy so I looked nice, but at the same time couldn’t be bothered to go all out glamorous.  The peplum dress offered a girly base, and the chunky ankle boots made me feel evening ready, the furry jacket kept me warm, and there’s nothing like a woolly hat to keep a look casual and add an effortless edge to something (plus I love hats).
. Zara Fur Jacket . River Island Hat . AX Paris Dress & Heels . H&M Fur Stole .

I actually quite liked this outfit, albeit it does admittedly look a little weird. It made me feel like i’d made some effort but not gone too OTT.

I finally got my hair sorted last night, although it did include some tears and a last minute appointment at another salon, and a £100 bill to get it sorted. Deary me. In all the (7) years i’ve been getting highlights i’ve never cried about the colour before. Anyway, sorted now, and it’s a friday so it’s all ending well.

I can’t wait for this weekend, I’m heading home and have a very chilled Saturday and Sunday lined up. AKA – I have no plans. But no doubt it’ll include some brunch, a dinner out, some baking and some movies. They mostly do.

What do you think of this outfit? Are you a fan of peplum dresses? Do you ever wear dressy clothes but style them down with chilled accessories?

Well I think you look fabulous darling, I love peplum dresses and wearing dressy items both glammed up and then casual – it makes the piece a good investment too like this dress you’re wearing. Anyway fabulous look!
