Black on Black - Mediamarmalade

There’s something in a plain black dress, simple, understated but ultimately pretty chic. I like to wear black outfits every now and then, and find them especially good for evenings out or a smart work look. They’re also really easy to style in different ways dependent on the occasion and your mood.

I often wear my dresses in quite a girly and preppy manor (as this is my typical style), I usually style my dresses with tights and a blazer or preppy accessories. But for this outfit I decided to mix things up a little bit and give this Velvet by Graham & Spencer Althea Black Ponti Dress (which I got from Stanwells Rerun) a bit of a grungier twist.

I decided to ditch the tights and instead team my Urban Outfitters black sparkly socks with my chunky black platform ankle boots. It’s crazy how this simple swap actually changes the look quite a lot. I didn’t want to over accessorize the look so simply added my Topshop leather jacket and this cute feather necklace from Dandy Rocks to finish the look off.
