The bank holiday was pretty awesome, the sun pulled out all the stops for us, meaning my ‘extra’ day off work was spent lapping up the rays and enjoying a huge endorphin boost. Seriously, sunshine makes me happy. Jase and I spent the day in the garden playing Yahtzee (we’re addicted), strolling round clifton village picking up some deli bits for a picnic in the park, followed by an almighty bbq. Perfection if you ask me.
I embraced the weather and decided to wear my new primark dress which I picked up a few weekends ago for a bargain £15, a seriously good find. This dress is great for the summer and a casual weekend look. I love the polka dots, cut out sides and dolly girl cut, it’s become a real fave of mine. It is quite short, but for a sunny day you can forgive it.
. Primark Polka Dot Dress £15 . Topshop Sandals £50 . Brit-Stitch Satchel £70 c/o .
I styled the dress with my new sandals from Topshop, which I have been wearing almost daily since I bought them. They’re the perfect sandal, and I love that they’re slightly heeled (3.5 inches, but also has a platform, so really about 5inches), but the platform makes them super comfy and perfect for work, weekends and evenings out. The all round perfect shoe I think.
I also wore my current jewellery staples, including my Urban Outfitters triangle necklace and my gorgeous Robindira Unsworth stacking rings which I got from the jewellery shop So Charming. These rings are so gorgeous and I love how chic an unique they are. You can layer them up and pick from tons of colours, but I love the milky quartz (moon stoney) and chrysoprase (green) colours I have. The best thing about stacking rings are that they’re all 22 Karat Gold, and because of the variety of gems you can create a really unique look.
We had an awesome day, our picnic was so tasty with some yummy local cheeses, olives, iced coffees and fresh tomatoes. We kept it pretty low key as we had a BBQ waiting at home for us … where all the stops were pulled out. I love all the blossom that’s covering our streets now, this has to be one of the best things about spring / summer, it’s just so pretty and instantly makes me feel happy. The sunshine meant I also got to put the roof down on my beetle, a sure sign summer has arrived ;)
What do you think of my bank holiday sunshine outfit? How did you spend your bank holiday weekend? Did you enjoy this slightly more ‘lifestyle’ post?
