Outfit

ME MY BUTTERCUP

July 15, 2013

. STRUCTURED YELLOW TEE .

A casual summer outfit from me today. Managing the sunshine and the smart / casual work wear requirements with this super comfy but classy Zara yellow top. Finding things to wear to work when the sun is shining and we’re hitting 30 degrees on the old temperature gauge can get a little tricky, but a smart top and jeans is a simple way to keep cool and professional.
I picked this top up from Zara a few months ago after falling in love with the colour and print (I was desperate for the coat version too). It’s the perfect spring, summer style (and colour) and also feels and looks really quality (despite being around £30). I wore this to work the other day with a pair of jeans (an old Zara pair) and it did the job of comfort and work suitable.
. Zara Green Coat c. £80, Yellow Top c. £30  Jeans (old) . Daniel Footwear Pumps £149 c/o .
The two final touches to this outfit actually kind of make it. keeping on the Zara theme, is my new green summer coat. I’ve not really ever had a summer coat before, usually sticking to thin blazers, denim jackets or just nothing at all, but when I saw Zara’s collection of summer coats I decided to change this and invest in a chic little jacket. This bright green number was around £80 and is perfect for a finishing touch to a summer outfit, it’s very light (making sure you’re not too hot) and is great for when the evenings get a little cooler.
And last but certainly not least is my Daniel Footwear pumps (which you may remember from this post). These gorgeous white loafers were a surprise gift from the amazing Daniel Footwear team and have been living on my tootsies practically every day since I received them. They’re super chic, perfect for summer, and unbelievably comfortable. They work really well with skirts and dresses as well as jeans or summer trousers.
On the topic of dressing for this heat, I’ve also been a fan of the maxi look as well as summer pencil skirts and loose blouses. more to come on this ;)
What do you think of my summer work wear look? How are you dressing for work in the summer heat?
