Shopping for a new wardrobe each season isn’t something I partake in, I don’t believe in buying clothes for the sake of trends or seasons, but instead opt for picking items you love – whatever time of year. I also don’t split my wardrobe by season … there’s always a way to style ‘summer’ clothes for winter, so why restrict your garments to half a year’s usage (that’s over zealous, realistically UK summers are MAX 10 days).
Having said that, this doesn’t mean I don’t like to buy summery clothes or winter warmers, but I will just add them to my wardrobe as and when i find items I like. For example I just ordered a Zara trench coat and winter knitted jumper … not because I need them right now, but more because i loved them. This dress is another item of that kind, whilst it was a perfect summer purchase, I bought it because I loved the look … not because ‘i needed a summer wardrobe’.
. Topshop Strappy Sun Dress £36 . H&M Green Sandals . Mulberry Satchel .
This dress is an item I hunted down in Topshop. As with many of my purchases, i tend to spy an item I like online and then spend the following 2 days ringing every store in the country trying to find said item before the entire world buys it and it sells out. Ridiculous yes, but just imagine if it sold out (plus I enjoy the anticipation of the ‘hunt’). Since buying this little white dress, i’ve worn it zillions of times. A true sign of picking a gooden.
Despite the cut out side details I actually wore this to work a lot in our mini summer a few weeks back, styled with pumps and a blazer it made the perfect laid back, comfortable summer work outfit. I also wore it this weekend in Norway the day before the wedding, i really like how delicate and feminine the dress is, and i’m obsessed with spaghetti straps right now so it was an instant winner really.
I love the dress so much that I’ll absolutely be finding a way to wear it as the days get colder – perhaps with a big chunky knit, my Office ankle boots and a cosy scarf to keep me warm. I’m not sure tights would work with the bold white colour tones – what do you think?
Are you a seasoned binge shopper or an ‘all year round’ shopping snacker? What do you think of my new white dress, how would you wear this come winter?

Love the dress!! You can always find such good things at Topshop. I think For when it gets colder, I’d wear it with some knee high boots, paired with a big circle knit scarf and light weight cardigan!
