. MAC RUBY WOO LIPSTICK .
This weekend I had a wedding for one of my nearest and dearest, a summer wedding with the risk of showers (same old story in the UK). I bought my dress for the occasion ages ago, and have been so excited to wear it (you can check it out here), but wedding makeup and hair styles are the one thing I always forget to consider when pre-wedding prepping and end up making a mess of on the day. For some reason every time I attend a wedding I feel the need to change something about my makeup, add something to my routine or generally do something different. It always ends in disaster, of course, and so this time I vowed to keep things simple. I opted for my standard makeup, relatively natural coverage with a light smokey eye (and a little cat flick to boot), but to add a little glamour to my look decided to upgrade the look with a powerful red lip.

I love a good powerful red lip at the best of times (and i’ve got a pretty good little collection on the go now), it’s my go to makeup item when i’m transitioning my makeup look from day to night, but decided that a wedding called on a new purchase. And seeing as it’s probably the most hyped & talked about red lippy out there, my choice had to be Ruby Woo by MAC.
I love this lippy as it’s such a strong red colour but a perfect matte texture which is what I love in a lipstick (I find really moist lipsticks hard to apply and stay put on my lips). The colour is a fab pillar box red with blue undertones too which make this lippy suited to my pinky coloured skin – I always found it tricky to find red lipsticks which suited me until someone finally explained how skin undertones worked, now i’ve got a great selection which I sport for special occasions.
I’m hoping to get some pictures from the wedding (and my red lippy to boot) so i’ll share those on my blog too so you can see the lipstick in action.
