LITTLE BLACK (LEATHER) DRESS

We talk about trends coming round year on year and fashion making a come back, and I have to say it’s always a little delight when this happens, and old purchases or vintage gems become acceptable to wear again. Often these trends might circle every few years, but this season i’m in even more luck as it’s only been a year. This leather mini dress was a very well worn purchase from last winter which I picked up in black, but also in white the summer prior. If you’ve been a reader for a while then you’ll no doubt remember it well, but if not, don’t worry because it’s back in action, and even back in the shops too!

I wore this outfit to work last week (minus fedora, that would have just been weird) and got so many compliments, in fact one friend said it was her favourite ever outfit of mine. Bold. It’s funny when things like that happen, and you yourself just thought you’d ‘thrown on an old dress’. After receiving all those compliments I was also a little excited to then see it hanging on the shelves in topshop, recycled no doubt after last years demand! I teamed the dress with a classic pair of black booties (from Office) – albeit with a slightly more fashionable edge with a pony hair finish & my Celine Nano. Partner in crime. Forever.

The other touches were of course my usual jewellery pieces, although you may notice that there’s a new addition to the pack this time around. Not only have I fully embedded in my new Gemporia ring into my jewellery mix but i’ve also got a new Links of London Effervescence bracelet (in pewter) from Joshua James jewellery which has become an absolute staple. I’m already a huge fan of Links jewellery but love the new Effervescence range, it’s far more subtle and chic than their infamous sweetie and friendship bracelets (which I have and do still love).
