HOW TO INCORPORATE EMBROIDERY IN YOUR WARDROBE

January 14, 2017

The Welcomed Return Of Embroidery

Embroidery is a big deal this season. Whether it’s Gucci’s embroidered loafers or the high streets obsession with embroidered floral jumpers, dresses and even MOM jeans. Embroidery is back people. And I for one, despite my repulsion at the thought of wearing an embroidered frock as a youth, am embracing the trend with open arms. Whilst the embroidered Gucci Jordaan loafers are yet to be my own (one day my friends, one day), I have to say Zara’s embroidered collection is seriously on point right now and fast filling my wardrobe. And this dress has to be a favourite.

SHOP MY LOOK & THE EDIT

. ZARA EMBROIDERED DRESS (SOLD OUT – SIMILAR) & LEATHER BOOTS (SOLD OUT) . WHISTLES SUEDE BUCKET BAG . KAREN WALKER SUNNIES . MISSOMA FANG NECKLACE . TOPSHOP NECKERCHIEF .

This dress was a firm favourite from Zara’s collection as soon I saw it. It was one of those items you constantly have to wait to be back in stock, but when I finally got my hands on it, i wore it again, and again and again. For me it’s one of those fail safe purchases that can be styled for work, weekends, parties and chilled days alike.

And i’ve worn it for all of these, but perhaps my favourite look is styling it with my green leather boots (another Zara find would you believe) for all the festive do’s I was attending.

The rich embroidered colours looked perfect with the vibrant green and I couldn’t resist adding my toyshop neckerchief which channeled my inner Peaky Blinder i feel (i’m obsessed with the series guys and I feel its time to admit I’ve fallen in love with Thomas Shelby). Anyway, back to the look … not one to shy away from colour, my mustard suede Whistles bag was the final touch. Et Voila.

Are you embracing embroidery this season, how are you channeling the sartorial trend?

I love your outfit and the boots look so sassy :). I wanted to buy some embroiled jeans from Topshop for ages but never took the plunge. Now I definitely will buy some. I remember I had some when I was little and I bloody love that they came back in fashion.

As a child, I didn’t want to wear embroidery either! But again, like you I am embracing it. Lovely look! I also really like the booties you paired with it.

I just love the boots! I also used to think that embroidery is not my thing, but I’m slowly opening my mind to it and thinking of how to style it my own way :)
