A SEASONAL ZEITGEST
The Embroidered Boho Dress
My love for the embroidered trend has no bounds, embroidered denim, tops, skirts and dresses, even shoes. I’ll take it all. I’m a big fan of the sartorial zeitgeist and not least when it’s combined with a rather oversized bohemian smock dress! For me this is the ultimate look for the season.
The boho smock dress, mini, midi or maxi, is a must have and a garment already filling my newly spring cleaned wardrobe, and what better way to embrace the trend than with a spluttering of embroidery to boot. They’re the ultimate partners in crime, and make for the most beautiful summer styling.
As always Zara’s fast fashion take on the trend has stollen my attention and pennies.
They billowing fit, multitude of colours and cuts and not to mention easy price tag means I’ve been stocking up on a fair few of their boho smock dresses this summer already. You’ll remember this one from my birthday and of course todays take is another newbie (and you can stand by for another look in the coming weeks too). For me this type of dress is the perfect festival number, an easy weekend option, a chic option for a casual work day (styled right of course), not to mention the perfect holiday dress.
SHOP MY LOOK & THE EDIT
. ZARA EMBROIDERED SMOCK DRESS . CHLOE HUDSON . TOPSHOP SANDALS (OLD) . RAYBAN ROUND . REISS PANAMA .
I’ve been teaming this loose and long Zara embroidered boho dress (linked above, but this New Look version is similar & i’m loving this Free People take too) with my old burgundy topshop sandals (still going strong) and my Chloe Hudson, for sunny weekends strolling around the village and hopping from one coffee shop to the next (the best way to spend a Sunday if you ask me). Whilst it’s made the perfect weekend outfit so far, it’ll also be an essential for my summer trip this year. Which by the way is still not confirmed but looking like Sri Lanka or another trip to Asia which is super exciting – any tips let me know.
Whats your take on the trend? Are you in or out?

I’m definitely in – but prefer fitted to loose, although I know I’m vastly in the minority there! Still love this look – especially that hat!!

You look beautiful. This dress is so pretty. It suits you perfectly. I love how you styled it. I really need to hop on the embroider vagon as I don’t own anything embroidered. Maybe the dress will be the perfect start. x
