When Life Gets Too Much For Anything But Simple

WOW. I can’t believe quite how much time has passed since I last got my writing on, it’s not often I let this space go quiet for such a long time, but between a manic start to the year at work and probably one too many city breaks filling my weekends, I’ve not even had a minute to wash my hair let alone stop, think and write.

Ironic really as I actually have so many new looks to share, travel posts to put live and so many things I feel inspired to talk about right now. But as happens every now and then in my work world, the pressures on, the works pumped up and 9pm finishes and weekends in the office become more the norm than I’d like to admit. Hopefully not for too much longer, but until normality returns (the excitement is palatable) my life is slightly on pause and my daily wardrobe looking something like this.

Trusty denim jeans, a cosy oversized sweater, and a chic blazer to try and at least smarten things up.

When you can’t remember to eat in a day, getting dressed is a near thoughtless process that requires as minimum effort as possible. Normally that means my trusty straight leg jeans (these And Other Stories jeans have become my favourite cut of all time, I’m gradually building my collection and have been living in this dark indigo shade since I bought them a few weeks back), the warmest, cosiest and most oversized jumper possible – again I’m really loving this HM knit right now, it’s super snuggly and such an easy item to throw on. The finishing touch is really the blazer and pumps, two items that make the look remotely passable for a day in the office.

It’s fail safe, effortless (and really is), but ticks the office wear rules of etiquette …
