CELEBRATING MY THIRTIETH WITH THE HOTTEST APRIL IN 70 YEARS
And Giving My Spring Wardrobe Some Airtime (Finally)
I certainly timed the big three zero well this year. Being an April baby my birthdays can be graced with beautiful sunshine or pouring rain in equal doses. I was worried for my week off work we’d be greeted with rain, but as it happens my thirtieth birthday celebrations have been greeted with the hottest days in April in 70 years. I couldn’t be luckier.
Not just with the weather, but with the incredible celebrations, presents (i’m overwhelmed with the unbelievable presents everyone has got me) and moments I’ve had this week so far. From my incredible bbq party on Saturday where my family created the most beautiful secret garden party for me (and we had sunshine for the first time this year), the best two days i’ve had at Soho Farmhouse with my family (more to come on that soon but you can see a few bits on my instagram), to a beautiful day at my favourite beach on my birthday (18th April) picnicking in the sunshine with my Harvey Nichols Hamper which Liza sent me as a surprise birthday present for the occasion, to yesterdays celebrations in London with my dad having spa treatments & shopping for my present before a lovely dinner with him and Jase, and finally today … 27 degrees of sunshine which i’ll be lapping up in Richmond where I live with one of my best friends before a big dinner party tonight in London with more of my friends which Jase has organised for me. I’ve TRULY been spoilt rotten.
Fortunately the weather has also given me the perfect opportunity to give my spring wardrobe some show time, and in particular my new party frock from And Other Stories.

I’m a huge fan of the midi dress and actually tend to wear it all year round, with ankle boots and additional layers in winter, and come Spring simply styling with trainers does the job perfectly. This And Other Stories dress has been the first of my Spring wardrobe additions, and it was love at first sight … you may recognise the cut and style of dress because it happens to be the exact same dress as my favourite winter dress. When you know what you like, you know right? I love the gorgeous spring colours and the fit is one I turn to again and again, flattering, loose fitting but with tailoring in the right places & of course a few extra touches to make it that little bit more special (ruffles on the neck and hem line).
I teamed the dress on my birthday (and my bbq in fact) with my new Veja trainers. A brand I hadn’t heard of but when hunting for some cool trainers to replace my very worn converse discovered, and loved immediately. Of course I’ve since realised they’re super cool and well worn by the street style mavens. This look typifies my spring style, easy going, simple to pull together but actually (well hopefully) quite effortlessly chic too.

I’m so excited to start transitioning into more spring looks and share some more of my new spring purchases with you too. I’d love to know what you’ve been rocking this week in all the sunshine?
