YET ANOTHER CARDIGAN
The Affordable Cardigan That Crosses Lounge Wear Into Everyday Wear
I shared my re-discovery of cardigans earlier in the month when I debuted my beautiful red one from jigsaw and this cosy one from And Other Stories (as well as sharing more context on my rediscovery), since then my love for cardigans has expanded even further. I used to wear midi length cardigans a lot 10 years or so ago, but since then they completely disappeared from my wardrobe and styling repertoire. This season the ‘cropped’ length (just above the hip) cardigan is clearly back in fashion and I surprised myself with how much I fell for the look. Oversized, massively cosy and actually quite an effortless scandi styling to them (boxy, androgynous & capsule), they look perfect with your favourite straight leg jeans, chic with a silky midi skirt (which we all know is the current fashion obsession – and you can expect to see a lot more of them on here in the coming weeks) and even with smart tailored trousers for work which I shared here.
My cardigan investments to date had been just that, investments. My jigsaw number was around £130 and even my And Other Stories one was nearing £100 due to the material, and because of that I don’t always turn to them for comfy weekend wear, and instead save them more for work looks or special occasions. When I found this M&S cardigan in store, and having seen Alex from the Frugality share it on stories, I immediately purchased it (not least because I had a 20% discount) as it was the perfect piece to merge lounge wear with everyday looks.

If the £35 price tag wasn’t tempting enough, it’s one of the cosiest cardigans I’ve bought, it’s super comfy, versatile and since I bought it i’ve worn it three times in one week – the proof is in the pudding right? The grey wool goes with everything, the quality is really good and the box fit gives it a really modern scandi look. I bought the size small and even this is quite oversized and loose fitting, which I think is the perfect way to style this seasons cardigan. Nothing too fitted or tailored, cropped, boxy and a low V neck works best.
Are you sold on the cardigan this season?
