It’s officially my weekend and the sun has graced us for the long weekend (I hope it follows me to Norway too). Today i’m sporting a laid back, easy wearing outfit, perfect for sunshine and travels.
. ASOS Cigarette Trousers . Daniel Footwear Slip Ons. Topshop Breton Tee . Daniel Wellington Watch .
Cigarette trousers don’t have to be only for chic androgynous looks, i’ve been wearing mine a lot for a casual weekend style, teamed with my leather slip ons and a cropped breton top or sweater. Super comfy and really easy to throw on without much hassle. The finishing touch will be my fedora … i’m obsessed.
Have you embraced cigarette trousers yet? How have you been styling them?
It’s not officially Friday, but today is my Friday as I have tomorrow booked off work and a flight whizzing me off to Oslo for a long weekend at midday, and I have to say, I cannot wait. In the spirit of the weekend i’m sporting a rather bold two piece today …
This little duo is a Motel Rocks set which I got from Bank a few weeks ago, it’s the sort of outfit that you put on and instantly just feel like a rock star. A two piece set isn’t something I’ve really ever sported before (aside from my Zara mini & Jacket) but something that I actually love. This outfit is really similar to a jumpsuit, but the benefit of a two piece is you get a little midriff flash every now and then to spice things up.
I styled the two piece with my new killer stiletos which I bought from Vinted … an absolute bargain find & they were brand new in the box too. They went like a dream with the black and white trousers and finished the look off perfectly.
What do you think of the two piece look? How would you style this kind of outfit?
Whilst the sun keeps coming out to tease us, it’s definitely still jacket weather here in London, but that’s no bad thing, it’s the perfect time of year to sport that simple skinny jean look & there’s no denying that everyone loves this kinda outfit from time to time.
. Citizens of Humanity Jeans . Topshop Leather Top . Chicwish Jacket . Kurt Geiger Boots .
Whilst i’m currently obsessing over my Whistles ripped knee denim jeans, there’s still a place in my heart for a skinny black jean. It’s not something I wear that frequently right now, particularly going into summer (Say What?), but it’s a look which is so easy to throw on for those days when you want an easy sartorial ride.
These black skinny jeans are my favourie, they’re from Citizens of Humanity and just fit like a glove. I teamed them up with my leather top from Topshop which worked to give the outfit a slightly more spring suitable feel. The finishing touches were my KG boots (of course) and a forest green jacket which I got from Chicwish a little while back.
A simple look, but a classic way to style up a pair of black skinnies for Spring. What do you think?
Continuing on my theme of sharing outfits from this weekend, this look was my plat du jour (ha) from Saturday! On Saturday Harriet and I popped up to Bermondsey after our little Celine affair and met my buddy oh pal Zoe for a spot of Tapas at Jose & a stroll along Maltby Street Market.
The day was an absolute contradiction of rain and clear blue skies, after heading into Jose for shelter from the rain a glass of vino, the blue skies popped out so I took the opportunity to grab a cheeky outfit picture for the blog (most likely to the amusement of the other restaurant guests).
As the day started off super sunny, I decided to go for an overly pastel filled look with my ASOS cigarette trousers, Topshop breton tee and Harriett’s Zara jacket. The finishing touches were of course my new fedora which i’m just obsessed with and my Mulberry bayswater which has been left at home for too long.
What do you think about this OTT pastel look? Too much or are you all for it?
This weekend my sister came to stay in London, it’s her birthday next weekend and i’m going to miss it as I’m spending a long weekend in Norway. To make up for it I invited her up to London for the weekend to spend a couple of days indulging in lots of shopping, cosy movie nights, tasty food and some serious relaxing. We had a lovely time and we spent yesterday strolling round Hampstead admiring the beautiful houses & indulging in a spot of tea and cake.
. Zara Coat . Topshop Sandals . HM Blouse . Whistles Jeans . Marc Jacobs Sunglasses . Mulberry Bayswater .
The weather wasn’t perfect yesterday but we had a couple of bouts of sunshine which made it worth popping out for the afternoon. I had a couple of new purchases which I decided to debut for the afternoon and managed to rope Harriett into taking some pictures for me in Hampstead.
I wore my favourite new skinny jeans from Whistles, and my bright pink Zara jacket, teamed with my new Topshop leather sandals which arrived this weekend in the post and my new blouse from H&M which I picked up on Saturday on my Selfridges spree. It was a bargain £19.99 so felt like a menial addition to my Celine shopping list. Both new purchases are definitely going to be Summer essentials for me, the shoes are so comfy too.
What do you think of my new purchases and this weekends chilled Sunday look?
Well, I’ve only gone and done it. After months of serious debate on the leather goods front, a serious amount of online browsing, in store trying on and general sense checking with any human being willing to listen to me give the pro’s and con’s of every designer hand bag ever produced, I’ve finally made a decision and invested in the most stunning Celine handbag.
. Celine Nano £1,550 .
As I mentioned in yesterdays post, the process of picking a designer bag to invest in has been no rash decision, i’ve debated a ton of different bags, and made my mind up about 3 times and then changed it. But after becoming rather fixated on the Celine Nano bag over the last couple of weeks (plus lusting after the full size for years), and deciding that I wanted a classic bag I truly loved, I talked myself around the price tag (actually 3 x what I thought I was going to spend) and made the super exciting decision to go for the bag of my dreams (Chanel, you’re still there). The Celine Nano.
My sister and I spent the morning in Selfridges browsing the handbag department, and getting excited at the Celine boutique trying on a variety of bags, including the Trio which was a close second place. The store with it’s pumping music and incredible vibe certainly got me in the mood and the decision making process was super enjoyable. After I browsed Prada, Phillip Lim, Chloe and Chanel I thought i’d be confused as to which bag I wanted to invest in, but actually the whole morning only made me more certain this bag was the one for me.
I was the proudest shopper yesterday, strolling around Bermondsey with my little Celine bag in hand and haven’t regretted the decision once. My dad and Jase were both seriously supportive of my decision, great bag, great brand and a real classic, and made spending the money that bit easier saying my hard work had paid off and I deserved to reward myself. It was a huge investment for me to get my head around, but I really am a believer of rewarding oneself for hard work, however big or small that reward may be.
So its official … i’m part of the Celine crew. And certainly chuffed to be at that.
The weather isn’t quite so glorious today in London, but that doesn’t matter because it’s given me a great excuse to wear my new ASOS fedora & my lilac toned M&S coat for a day out with my sister and friend Zoe.
Today we’re hitting up Bermondsey for a stroll around the gorgeous streets & a look at the infamous food market which all my friends have been raving about. Prior to our south of the river exploration we’re nipping to Selfridges as i’m finally about to purchase my bag which i’ve been harping on about and debating for months now. My outfit is shopping ready, flat loafers, comfy skinny jeans & an oversized jacket to finish it off.
On the bag front I’ve been torn between the Phillip Lim pashli which I was 100% set on (and still love, and may by later in the year) but haven’t been able to hunt down in the UK in the colour I want, the Chanel Boy or Timeless, both bags I’ve loved forever but too high on the price spectrum to rationalise right now and finally ‘other’ bags which have swayed from Saint Laurents Sac Du Jour or YSL tassel bag, Aspinals Marylebone to my current choice … the Celine Nano or Celine Trio. I’ve gone full swing on the decision process, but both the Trio and Nano Celine bags get me super excited and fit my brief perfectly – a mini shoulder bag, for every day chicness. I can’t wait to treat myself today … stay tuned to my Instagram for purchase updates.
What do you think of today’s shopping outfit? And most importantly which bag would you chose (see them all here)?
We all know cigarette trousers are my new thang, I just can’t get enough of them at the moment. I’m currently on 3 pairs and this little satin number from Topshop was the first of the bunch which kick started my little love affair. Before these i’d searched high and low for a good fitting, nice pair, and had absolutely no luck. But as with all things, as soon as I found one pair, I kept on finding more. I’ve since bought these and these (will be debuted soon on mediamarmalade) too.
When I first got my satin trousers from Topshop the whole white on white thang was just getting hot again, and I couldn’t wait to try out the look with my new trousers & reptile leather sweater. I loved the combination and felt pretty suave sporting le double blanche. The black patent pumps finished the look off with a punchy contrast.
The best thing about this look though, has to be that my mum sported an almost identical look when she was my age – check it out here. Uncanny.
What do you think of white on white? Are you a fan of the cigarette trouser trend?
I wasn’t sure how I wanted to follow yesterdays blog post, the outfit was a new favourite of mine and so I didn’t want to replace it with a new outfit straight away. Weird logic most likely, but regardless, I thought i’d instead post about the shoes that were featured within the look. These were a new pair I bought last week and already have fallen madly in love with.
. Zara Navy Pumps £69.99 .
After having a number of seriously big work meetings over the last few weeks, I got to the point where I was criticizing every outfit I could wear and deciding (well realising actually) that I didn’t have any smart work shoes. I have tons of shoes don’t get me wrong … I think i’m nearing 150 pairs, albeit none of them are ‘work heels’ or should I say ‘pumps’ After throwing out every chic outfit I had to wear due to the fact I had no shoes to go with them, I embarked on a serious hunt for the perfect pump. If you follow my instagram you will know I was eyeing up the ‘ARA’ from Jimmy Choo, but after deciding that a £425 investment was pretty rash, I decided to refocus my efforts. That’s when I came across these incredible Zara pumps.
They’re not your typical chic stiletto, and I think that’s why I fell in love with them, they’re also not a staple colour, which was another reason I loved them so much more. They feel a little edgy, but still sophisticated and suitable for a smart work, dinner or party look. After trying them on, there was no further debate, I snapped them up immediately.
Jase naturally pointed out that I’ve just gone and bought another ‘trend’ shoe, opposed to the classic pump stiletto I needed … but hey ho! An excuse to buy another pair … Jimmy Choo, here I come.
Are you a fan of the classic pump, where would you recommend shopping for pumps?
