STYLING TWEED FOR THIS SEASON & NEXT
And Why This Zara Blazer Has Lasted The Test Of Time
Don’t you just love it when a trend sticks around for more than just one season, and if you’re really lucky for a couple of years.
I’m really not sure how old this tweed coat is, but at least two years old because I found a couple of my old style posts from Nov / Dec 2015 featuring it (this one is a favourite – and ironically features the same jeans accidentally too). Not only has the trend lasted the test of time, but the quality of this Zara blazer has also passed the test as well, two years on the tailoring is still relevant, the quality is still going strong and tweed itself is a zeitgeist (again) right now). Proving fast fashion doesn’t always mean wasted pennies.
Despite the serious clear out (5 IKEA bags of clothes later) I embarked on when we moved into our new house, this coat survived the clear out for good reason and has become a popular coat for my Autumn wardrobe this season now too! I’ve been wearing the coat a lot, but one of my favourite looks to style it with is a simple pair of jeans (these are James Jeans and embarrassingly the same as the ones featured here too), a mustard yellow sweater (because you know how much I’m loving mustard yellow this season) and a classic pair of pointed boots (these are my new season And Other Stories boots) & my Chloe Hudson. The burgundy in the coat matches Lady Chloe perfectly and the outfit is a really easy one for work or a casual weekend attire.

As I write this post I’m sat in Belgium working here for a few days before I fly to Morocco at the end of the week for some well timed time off. It’s a bit of a whirlwind week for me with a relatively unexpected trip to Brussels and pretty much no time to get my shit together ahead of my holiday, so panic online ordering (Bikini shopping in November is not ideal) & a last minute mani / pedi have been crammed in.
I have to say after getting so engrossed in my Autumn wardrobe and the new seasons clothes, trying to get my head back into summer clothing is a real life struggle right now! Not only is my body seriously NOT beach ready, my wardrobe isn’t really either, so if any of you have any tips or if you’ve spotted any beautiful dresses I could take with me, then let me know in the comments. We’re staying in some really beautiful hotels so I can’t wait to take lots of photos (& shoot loads of content for mediamarmalade), indulge in some R&R and get a little sun kissed before the Christmas festivities are in full swing when we get home.
