THE AMAR & ADA SHORT SUIT
. REISS AMAR & ADA SHORT SUIT .
I can only apologise for my blogging tirade of incredible shorts, I have developed an unmanageable obsession with the garment and seem to be building on my collection with yet more incredible pieces on a weekly basis right now. This Amar & Ada short suit is my latest investment, and by god was it worth it.I’d been eyeing up this little two piece for absolutely ages, probably a good few months and it’s almost too embarrassing to admit the number of times i’ve been in store to try it on or the number of times I went online to check it was still in stock (verging on twice daily). In fact I made Jase sit in Reiss for 45 minutes a few weeks back while I paraded around debating whether or not to invest in this dream two piece. For a while I debated this Amar & Ada duo with the Latin & Cameron short suit, but after trying them on numerous time, I decided the blue Amar / Ada duo was the one for me, the cut & colour suited me most. It’s fair to say I become obsessive about things, and this short suit was one such thing that hit the top of my obsession list, only to be exaggerated when I started spotting a few bloggers collaborating with Reiss on their short suit two pieces. Que mega jealousy. This only heightened my need to own the short suit, but at £300 I was extremely nervous (mainly because I’d already bought my Celine & Choo’s which were mega treats).Last week I admitted defeat and decided I should give in and treat myself to the beautiful set. Fortunately for me, I timed my final decision to perfection, as I went online to order it for myself Reiss popped it in the sale. Taking my dream suit down from £300 to £198 … still a huge investment, but one that I proved was worth it given my extensive talking, researching, lusting over and trying on!When It arrived at the weekend I couldn’t have been any more chuffed and immediately threw it on. Immediately knowing i’d made the right decision & seriously looking forward to wearing it for a special dinner out on holiday next week. I’ve just checked it out online again now (still obsessed?) and it’s actually been reduced further (woe me) and is now reduced to £170 for the shorts & jacket. Almost 50% off the original price. I shan’t let this bother me though, I was happy enough to nab it in the first place. The short suit itself is beyond perfect and so styling is all about keeping it simple, a non statement camisole teamed with a simple leather sandal (in my case the Garland sandals), plus of course a little Celine to finish things off.I’m over the moon with my investment, What do you think? Worthit? -
THE SHORT OBSESSION
. REISS NAVARRE SHORTS .
So here it is, my first official outfit post featuring my brand new Reiss Navarre shorts which I shared with you all this weekend (here). I’ve been after these shorts for such a long time, I was so pleased when I finally gave in and treated myself to them, in the sale too which helped. I styled them up this weekend with a simple cami & my new Office garland sandals for a day out in the sun.. REISS NAVARRE SHORTS . CELINE NANO . DP CAMI . OFFICE GARLAND SANDALS .As I mentioned in my post on Saturday, these are actually one of my first pairs of smart, tailored shorts, suitable for a more dressy look. I absolutely love the cut, style & print on these shorts & they fit so comfortably too. The tailored style of Reiss’s shorts collection makes them perfect for special occasions & work, but equally chic for a night out or dinner date. This look is the sort of thing i’d wear when Jase and I are having a little date night, and it’ll 100% be coming on holiday with me next week. It’ll be perfect with a tan and margarita in hand. Are you a fan of the tailored shorts look? What do you think of this styling? -
ROSE BUD
. URBAN OUTFITTERS SHIFT DRESS .
I am currently on major countdown, 4 days from now I will be boarding a plane whisking me away to paradise and sunshine. I really can’t tell you how much I am looking forward to 11 days of pure relaxation & luxury. Up until the last year I tended to average a holiday every 2 months, travel, city breaks and time out is mega important to me. But what with moving into our own place & having a seriously busy work time i’ve not quite managed to maintain my holiday averages, making this trip away with Jase all the more exciting, needed & anticipated.. URBAN OUTFITTERS DRESS c/o (SOLD OUT). KEEPSAKE SANDALS . ASOS FEDORA . CELINE NANO .I’m currently in the throws of pulling together my holiday wardrobe (aka throw as much as I can in my suitcase, and anything that doesn’t fit, into Jase’s) and I’m really looking forward to getting some serious wear out of all my summer clothes which are only just starting to see daylight. I’ll be taking my golden oldies as well as a few new bits which I’ve picked up this summer, including my new Reiss short suit (which i’d wear every day if I could) as well as a couple of other newbies including this cute white summer shift dress from Urban Outfitters.White is clearly the colour du jour when on holiday, so whilst I’m transparent in these pictures from the other weekend when I was back home in Winchester, I look forward to sporting this on holiday with hopefully a little more colour to my name. I’ll be sporting the fedora & keepsake sandals on holiday too, they go perfectly with the shift for a casual day look. Are you a fan of the little white dress? How would you style this for a summer holiday?

THE WIMBLEDON EDITION
. LINKS OF LONDON WIMBLEDON COLLECTION .
A little while ago I shared a post (here) with you all featuring my day to day jewellery wear. I mentioned I wear the same things day in day out and occasionally add a new item to the collection or rotate items in or out. This summer I’ve added another new bracelet, my new Links of London Wimbledon limited edition friendship bracelet.I’ve been a fan of Links for years, if you trail through old blog posts you’ll spot my links charm bracelet which Jase bought me 6 years ago and added new charms to each year in nearly all my outfit posts. The friendship bracelet has been one of Links bracelets which i’ve admired and lusted after for years, it’s actually the bracelet I bought my sister for her 18th birthday too. I’m so chuffed to now have my very own version, and it couldn’t be any more perfect for me … the colours are my favourite (pink and blue) & I love how vibrant and summer perfect it is. Plus it’s brilliantly British being the Wimbledon edition. Are you a Links of London fan? What do you think of the fab new Wimbledon Collection? -
THE NAVARRE SHORT
. MY SHORT OBSESSION CONTINUES .
Well I thought there was no point trying to buck this weeks shorts trend, particularly as i’ve only gone and bought two new pairs to add to my collection in the Reiss sale. These Navarre printed shorts caught my eye back in March / April when the SS14 collection hit stores, I actually resisted buying them and bought this skirt instead (here / here / here), but hadn’t stopped thinking about them since. When I spotted they went in the Reiss sale this month I immediately purchased them and couldn’t be more chuffed.I fell in love with the shorts due to the unique print & subtle shimmer, they’re my most dressy short & believe me or not, I was lacking on the smart short front! They look fab styled with a simple camisole & pumps, but equally dressed down with a pair of converse & a loose tee. I’m so chuffed with my purchase i’m already in the process of getting an outfit post featuring them live on my blog (sneak peak in the top pic).
I mentioned that I actually bought two new pairs, this Navarre pair were my first splurge, but I also finally gave in and treated myself to the Reiss short suit i’ve been harping on about for months now. It was a leap of financial faith, but it arrived yesterday and I am SO excited to wear it. Swoon. Stay tuned for the debut of that beaut soon.

SHORT DATE
. SUMMER SHORTS .
I attempted to give up short based outfit posts, but who am I kidding, I freakin’ love them too much to stop the abundance of shorts wearing. I’m starting to think the short was the best thing ever to be invented … comfy, chic & best of all suitable for frolicking and having fun as there’s no risk of flashing people whilst cartwheeling in the park etc (or whatever floats your boat).. TOPSHOP BOYFRIEND SHORTS . ASOS PUMPS . MODALU CLUTCH BAG . H&M BLOUSE .These shorts have to be one of my favourite ever pairs, a good 4-5 years old too, but still serving me well. They’re so versatile and easy to style up or down, i’m actually wearing them today in a more casual look for work (check it out here) but for todays post wanted to show a slightly more dressy styling for Friday night festivities. I’ll be swapping my keepsake sandals for these ASOS pumps, my hefty Mulberry Bayswater for a classic little clutch (this one is from Modalu) and last but not least a splash of red lippy to complete the look.
Today i’m finishing up work at 3pm and heading home for a BBQ in the sun with some of my dear pals. I cannot wait, i’m seriously loving all this sunshine, it’s definitely getting me in the mood for my holiday this time next week.
What do you think of this whole shorts obsession? Are you a fan? -
KEEPING IT SIMPLE
. SKINNY JEANS & SUMMER BLOUSES .
It feels as though i’ve been getting my legs out a lot lately, although who can blame me, the sun is desperately trying to make it’s way through. For today though i thought i’d take things back down a level, give my feet a rest from heels & opt for a more laid back look. Sometimes you just feel like keeping things simple, today’s one of those days.. WHISTLES SKINNY JEANS . ASOS DUSTER COAT . H&M BLOUSE . CELINE NANO . TOPSHOP KEEPSAKE .Simple for me means skinny jeans, a no fuss blouse and a simple pair of comfy pumps, in this case my Topshop keepsake sandals which literally are as comfy as they look. I say this looks all about simplicity, but I couldn’t resist throwing my duster coat on to add a bit of a flirty spring feel as well as my Nano which is my partner in crime. No fuss, and super comfortable … it’s the sort of outfit to go shopping in. UH OH.On the shopping point, I truly have lost absolutely all control, not only did I book my holiday yesterday (finally booked & we’re heading for 11 nights in Agios Nikolous in Crete next week – inspired by Rosie from the Londoner) I also decided that my new Reiss Navarre shorts & Jimmy Choo Ari pumps were clearly not enough of a splurge and finally bought myself a the Reiss short suit (here & here) i’ve been harping on about for months too. My poor bank has died a fabulous death. What do you think of the simple laid back look? What do you throw on for days when comfort is key? -
LE FILLE
. SUMMER PENCIL SKIRTS & WHITE BLOUSES .
Dressing for the office in the Summer is no easy feat, there’s a matter of maintaining ones modesty but at the same time keeping cool and looking smart. It’s a balancing act that even the greatest can get wrong. As I work full time as a planning Director in the media insdustry, dressing for work is something i’m constantly doing & also something that really dictates my wardrobe and purchases. I absolutely do not have a work versus weekend wardrobe, i’m not a fan of that, i’m all about wearing the clothes I like but tailoring them for which ever occasion.. ASOS PENCIL SKIRT . ZARA PATENT PUMPS . CELINE NANO . H&M BLOUSE .I’ve gotten the work look wrong many a time, accidentally short dresses or over covering and being boiling hot. It’s not an easy styling challenge, but one easy win i’ve grown fond of over the years in the pencil skirt. So long as you pick a quality skirt, that’s not too short & isn’t uncomfortable, the pencil skirt is an easy summer outfit win for workwear. They look perfect with a simple cami, shirt or blouse tucked in, dependent on the occasion. And you can team the skirt with heels, sandals or even pumps dependent on your mood, and either way the look will work. Possibly my favourite thing about the pencil skirt is the ability to transform it from work to night simply by tweaking your shoes, top or even more simply your makeup. It’s my fail safe trick for post work festivities.I’ve been styling this ASOS pencil skirt with my Zara patent pumps and H&M blouse for work lately, the outfit is so comfortable but looks chic enough for the office but fun enough for post work summer fun. What’s your go to summer office look? Are you a fan of the pencil skirt for summer? -
THE PERFECT SHORT SUIT
. ZARA FLORAL SHORT SUIT .
I’ve developed an overwhelming obsession with shorts, not only shorts, but the short suit too. It’s getting quite out of control. The obsession first started when I discovered my love for the co-ord, this swiftly advanced to a love for short co-ords (and shorts generally actually). As soon as I came across the short suit co-ord, I was already vulnerable in lust, it was a love affair I just had no control over.. ZARA SHORTS £35.99 & JACKET £59.99 . ZARA PATENT PUMPS £69.99 .. CELINE NANO . H&M BLOUSE £19.99.
GET A SIMILAR LOOK:My first (and only, to date) short suit investment was this incredible floral two piece from Zara which was love at first sight. I actually became so obsessed with this two piece that I ended up buying it on my mobile whilst sat in the park. I just couldn’t wait a second longer. The duo arrived packaged up like a dream and as soon as I put it on my love was confirmed. Sadly for me, but great for you, shortly after I bought it hit the Zara sale.I sported the duo dream the other weekend teamed with my patent navy heels, my Celine nano & a simple H&M blouse. I can’t wait to wear it some more when the sun comes back out, and on holiday.I’m already desperately lusting after my second short suit now, seriously debating an investment in the Reiss Amar & Ada two piece in ice blue. I spent hours in the store at the weekend trying it on, and i’ve once again become utterly obsessed. The short obsession also continues as I’ve just bought myself the Reiss Navarre shorts which went in the sale, i’ve been dreaming of these for months now.Are you a fan of the Short Suit? What do you think of my floral Zara option.
