SWEETIE MIX
. FRENCH CONNECTION SWEETIE MIX DRESS.
I’ve not only been spending my hard earned salary on Jimmy Choo’s, i’ve also been investing in beautiful summer dresses too. Albeit a fab sales bargain timed to perfection. This French Connection Sweetie Mix Dress has been on my wish list for a long time, after popping into the Covent Garden store after work on Monday I fell even more in love with the dress and by Thursday decided I should definitely invest. Fortunately, unbeknown to me, Thursday was the first day of the sale, taking this beauty down to almost half price.. FRENCH CONNECTION SWEETIE DRESS £225 £112 .I have a couple of summer weddings coming up and of course the classic work summer party and so i’ve been hunting for the perfect dress for a while. When it comes to event wear I always something a little more special than the typical dress which is why i love French Connections dresses. Every dress i buy lasts me forever and is always a statement piece (Laura Whitmore even asked where one of my French Connection dresses was from at a party last year). This Sweetie dress is one of those, a statement, but such good quality that it’s an absolute keeper.I think i’ll be teaming this dress with my new Jimmy Choo’s and a plain clutch for the wedding … the back is so detailed that I think an up do will show this off to it’s fullest. I can’t wait. Are you a fan of French Connection dresses? What do you think of my new purchase(s)? -
TOP TO TOE
. PINK.
I’ve been sporting a couple of top to toe looks lately, top to toe white, top to toe pastel and today happens to be top to toe pink. Maybe that’s my new thing, the one colour look, there’s definitely something in it.
. ASOS CO-ORD . ASOS DUSTER COAT . NEWLOOK SANDALS .This outfit was one of my five stylings of this cute ASOS co-ord – I did a little teaser post here and will be sharing each look over the next couple of weeks. Continuing on my festival outfit theme, i’d thought today I’d share this look which I think is perfect for a sunny summer festival (clearly less so if British rain makes it’s usual appearance … Coachella would be the dream).I styled the co-ord with my duster coat which gave the two piece a far more chilled and laid back look (plus it’s handy to have a jacket at a festival to a- sit on, b- keep you warm into the early hours), a big pony to keep my hair out the way & a simple pair of sandals (I actually borrowed these off my Sister, and the sunnies). What festival would you rock this summer look for?

URBAN
. URBAN OUTFITTERS JUMPSUIT & #URBANGROW .
It feels as though all I can think about lately is holidays, shopping and festivals. These three things are totally occupying my mind and hopefully my diary for the next few weeks. Jase and I have 2 weeks booked off in July ready for some serious sun, sea and sand which I cannot wait for (we’re just trying to book something up now). Glastonbury is fast approaching and i’m still desperately hunting down a ticket … and as for shopping, well that’s a hobby that i’m always participating in. Todays outfit is a look that sort of ticks all three of these obsessions, a spot of Urban Outfitters shopping, and a look which is spot on for festival fun and holiday exploring.. URBAN OUTFITTERS JUMPSUIT £65 . DANIEL FOOTWEAR SLIP ONS . CELINE NANO . ASOS FEDORA .Urban Outfitters is a brand I absolutely love and if there’s one thing all their clothes are spot on for, it’s holidays and festivals (this open back jumpsuit couldn’t be more spot on for this years festival season). The bohemiam style of their collections would make anyone want to pop on a printed shift dress, some chunky ankle boots and a fedora and hit the best of Summers festivals. When I got the opportunity to work with UO not only to style up a couple of fab pieces but most importantly to support their new ‘Urban Grow‘ campaign, I was super excited, not least because i’m becoming a little green fingers myself doing up my garden. It felt like the perfect match. Whilst i’m lucky enough to have a garden (urban jungle) the campaign is designed for those who don’t have that outdoor space & need to bring a little garden life inside the home, I loved the idea am already in the process of creating my own little indoor flower garden with these UO goodies which I’ll be sharing on my blog soon (as well as my tomatoes, cucumber & chilli’s which i’m also growing). What’s your festival style, are you a fan of the laid back jumpsuit? Do you enjoy a bit of urban gardening too? -
SCANDI
. DRESSED UP SHORTS .
After getting into the summer mood in a serious way this last few weeks, I decided it was about time I share a more dressy version of my new summer favourites. My Monki silk shorts & knitted jumper (which i’ve been wearing with everything).. MONKI SHORTS . MONKI KNITTED JUMPER . ASOS PUMPS . CELINE NANO .The shorts were a little number I spotted in Monki whilst away in Norway and immediately ordered once I was back to the UK alongside this cute cropped knitted jumper which was also from Monki. The duo make the perfect summer ensemble, not just for day but night too. I popped on my ASOS pumps & Celine Nano to transform the look from day to night. This kind of look is perfect for dinner out or an evening look for summer holidays (of which i’m desperately trying to book). You can check out how I styled the look for day time here too.PS: on the loose topic of pumps, last night I lost all control and finally gave in and purchased my very first pair of Jimmy Choo’s! SO. FREAKIN. EXCITED,

ENGLISH ROSE
. MINT GREEN & PASTEL PINK .
All this sunshine over the last week or so has really spurred me on to get my summer wardrobe out and in full swing. The opportunity to wear head to toe pastels is far too difficult for me to resist & thankfully the weather is finally permitting.. ZARA LEATHER DRESS . SHEINSIDE MINT COAT . CHICWISH SANDALS .This look is a newbie for 2014 and definitely a firm pastel overloading favourite. The pink dress is a lazer cut leather number which I picked up from Zara in early Spring (but haven’t been able to wear that much yet due to the weather), as soon as I saw it in Zara I seriously wanted it – it’s summer perfection and unbelievably cute. I can’t wait to wear it for evening’s out on holiday this year, with (hopefully) tanned limbs & cute summer sandals. For now i’ve kept things slightly more cosy by teaming it with my new (even more cute – if that’s possible ) coat from Sheinside. The fact that this coat is ticking all my pastel obsession boxes, I mean mint green, what more could I want, says it all. As soon as this arrived in the post I knew my life was made. The finishing touch to the look was yet another pastel touch, in these nude pink patent sandals which were a little find from Chicwish.

LIFE READS
. NEW FAVOURITE BOOKS .
I like to mix my posts up at the weekend, posting something slightly different to my usual outfit features whether that be beauty, lifestyle or in today’s case books. I’ve developed a bit of a hard back book obsession over the last year or two and my lounge walls are now filled with beautifully covered lifestyle, style, food or travel books. I have a few firm favourites (36 hours in Europe & What Kate Ate) but also have a few new books I’ve really enjoyed which I wanted to share with you all.I received a couple of fab books for my Birthday back in April – Paris Street Style (a fab book, beautiful pics & some great tips for effortless style), Fashion & Couture (a stunning hardback with incredible couture pictures featuring all our favourite designers) as well as some foodie books Let’s Do Brunch, Three Sisters Bake and Food Lovers London (all of which have some great recipes & cafe recommendations in them) which all take pride of place on mediamarmalade HQ (my desk). I have Alexa Chung IT & my favourite 36 Hours In Europe book on my bedside table (as well as a pile of chick lits for the summer), but i’ve also been treating myself to a few books lately too. Today I wanted to share with you my latest purchases – The London Style Guide by Saska Graville and Parisian Chic by Ines De La Fressange. Both these books are hardbacks i’ve been eyeing up for ages in my favourite homie stores The Hambledon (in Winchester) and Oliver Bonas (a fab chain in London), both the books are super cute, full of gorgeous pictures and most importantly packed full of practical tips & recommendations. They’re really pretty reads but also books which look fab on the coffee table too which is a bonus. The London Style guide is broken into a series of sections based on various London locations ranging from London Fields & Bermondsey to Chelsea & Hampstead. Within each location Saska talks about the best style, foodie & general hot spots to visit in each area. There’s also an interview with a local business person about their own store or cafe which she loves. I love books like this as it not only lets you in on the cities hidden gems, but encourages me to explore other towns outside of my usual favourites. I was glad to see i’d already explored and would also recommend a couple of the places she’s recommended. A fab pressie for a londoner friend or even a treat to yourself if you’re a fan of going on little weekend adventures. The second book I bought – Parisian Chic, is a book i’ve spied many a time but never bought myself. It’s an extremely practical book about the do’s and don’ts of Parisian dressing … many things you’ll know already, but perhaps forget to put into practice. It’s a thorough book so one you could dedicate a couple of days to reading and getting through. The book is fully illustrated but teamed with fashion pictures from the Streets of Paris. A great book for anyone into their style or the Parisian way of life. It’s not advanced styling, which makes it a really great easy read.I’ve also recently received Arianna Huffington’s new book THRIVE, which I picked up (and got signed) at a conference she held at my work this month (I wrote a bit about it here), I’ve not yet read the book but after getting extremely inspired by Arianna’s success but quest for wellbeing, I think it’ll be a really worthwhile and inspirational read. One for my summer holidays when I have a few days to dedicate to reading. I also bought Jase a book for our anniversary, the recipe book Poplo. Polpo is a favourite restaurant of mine in London which i’ve been to many a time over the last few years. After Jase and I went for dinner there a few weeks back I thought it’d would be a good anniversary present, not least because our first ever trip was to Venice and Polpo is full of venetian recipes. The book is beautifully presented, simplistic and clean in style, but jam packed full of ‘must try’ tapas recipes. So there you go, a little round up of some new books i’ve been reading and a few recommendations for those of you looking for a new read.
Have you read any books recently that you’d recommend I give a try?

SHORT SUIT
. ZARA FLORAL SHORTS & JACKET .
Well it seems I’ve developed a suitably large addiction to the two piece, but in particular the summer suit two piece. There’s something so uber chic & summery about a short or skirt two piece and I’m slowly but surely building my own little collection up. Firstly with my Zara skirt & Jacket duo, but now with this incredible floral short suit duo.As soon as I spotted this set on Zara’s website I knew I wanted it, it was such an instant and undeniable lust that I actually ordered it within 5 minutes on my phone whilst sat in the park with my sister. I’d already wanted the shorts for a while, but as soon I saw the matching duo it was too hard to resist. My package arrived this week and I just cannot wait to wear it and share it with you all on my blog soon. I’ve also already extended my wish list to feature some of Reiss’s AMAZING two piece’s … swoon.
Are you a fan of the suit co-ord? What do you think of this bold summery duo from Zara? -
THE BACKPACK
. TAKE 10 & BRIT STITCH .
Seeing as festival season is now upon us, with Isle of Wight this weekend (wish I had accepted some tickets through work now) and Glasto in a few weekends time (desperately hunting down a ticket so I can join the fun), I thought today’s post should be suitably bold and festival worthy.
. MOTEL ROCKS PLAYSUIT . MARNI FOR H&M HEELS . TOPSHOP JACKET . BRITSITCH BACKPACK .
SHOP MY FESTIVAL EDIT:I think this Motel Rocks jumpsuit ticks the criteria, bold, bright, fun & comfortable, just what you need for a weekend full of sunshine, dancing and music. I styled the playsuit with my Marni heels in this look, but clearly these would be swapped for converse or my Hunters should a festival ticket come my way. This seasons perfect festival accessory has to be the backpack, the backpack is currently revelling in a bit of a 90’s come back with Mulberry, Lilly Allen’s Label & many of our high street favourites launching their own backpack range. Brit-sitch, who lets face it, basically OWN the festival bag with their range of incredible colourful satchels (you’ll have seen the half pint in poppy red & milkman in Skydiver satchels on my blog a number of times over the years), have only gone and launched their own leather satchel style backpack too. For this months take 10 all us ladies have chosen our very own colour from the range (boy there were a lot to choose from) and styled them up in our own unique way (check them out below).I opted for the gorgeous duck egg blue colour which went with my Motel Rock playsuit like a dream. Now i’ve got my outfit sorted, I just need a glasto ticket. Anyone?
Which Brit-Stitch bag is your favourite? How would you style a backpack?
