    . SILK SHORTS & LEATHER SANDALS .

As you’ll know from yesterdays post, this weekend I treated myself to a new pair of summer sandals. My Office garland grey leather block heeled sandals. The grey leather is something I’m really loving this summer & these sandals not only ticked the grey leather box, they’re also a super comfy block heel which makes them perfect for day and work wear, not only an evening out.
. MONKI SHORTS . MONKI SWEATER . OFFICE GARLAND HEELS . CELINE NANO

I wore the heels yesterday for an afternoon out in Clifton village, teamed with my Monki silk shorts and  Monki cropped jumper. The sun was trying to sneak through so I thought i’d honour it’s efforts by getting my legs out for the afternoon. The sandals go perfectly with this style of boyfriend shorts but also look equally fab with skinny jeans or a shift dress –  i’m going to get a lot of wear out of them no doubt.
I feel like i’ve been splurging a lot lately with my Celine Nano, Jimmy Choo’s, my new French Connection Sweetie Dress & a couple of other summer items like my Zara short suit & now these summer sandals. I’ve lost all control it would seem, and it’s only being spurred on further by a Reiss short suit which i’m desperate for. The price tag is seriously scaring me, but by god it looks good.
What do you think of these new summer sandals? Have you been splurging on a new summer wardrobe?

. OFFICE GARLAND STRAPPY BLOCK HEEL .

Yesterday myself and the girls spent the day in bath, hitting up the spa, trying out some local delicacies, drinking a few cocktails and indulging in a spot of retail therapy. The perfect girly day. I hadn’t necessarily planned to spend any money shopping, after all I had just bought my Choo’s & French Connection dress so I was trying to reign in the spending … but naturally these occasions are always the times when you find the perfect item, which you just HAVE TO HAVE.
I’d actually been trying to hunt down the Topshop RISK sandals, which are similar to these office sandals in design, but are black croc leather, but unfortunately they’d all sold out. I was about to admit defeat but decided it was worth trying to find a similar pair elsewhere. I didn’t have much success until we popped into Office on a whim and spotted these grey leather block heel sandals. They were the same leather tone as my Topshop keepsake sandals (which I was actually wearing) so the colour palette instantly caught my eyes, and after trying them on and feeling how unbelievably comfortable they were plus how cute yet chic they looked on, it was a full round of yes’s from all the girls. So there it was, a new summer sandal purchase. I can’t wait to wear them … i’ll share an outfit soon.

    . TROLLBEADS .

You may have noticed, if you’ve been reading my blog for a while now that I tend to wear the same jewellery day in and day out. A creature of habit perhaps, but it’s also a matter of finding pieces I love and sticking by them for years at a time. It’s not to say my jewellery hasn’t changed over time, i’ve rotated my bracelets from a Tiffany’s bracelet which I got for my 18th birthday in NYC, to a Chloe charm chain with a key & lock which I received for my 21st, to my links of London charm bracelet from Jase with a charm for every year we’ve been together (6 now), to more recently where i’ve rotated in a couple of simple charm bracelets. My pandora charm bracelet and now my Trollbeads charm bracelet too. I team these with my favourite watches (currently my DW St Andrews) and my staple rings which again are both sentimental items I’ve received from family over time.

    . TROLLBEAD SILVER BRACELET £35 (ALL ℅ TROLLBEADS) .

The newest addition to my ‘staple’ jewellery collection is my new Trollbead bracelet which I designed myself with three little charms – the three sisters knot (I loved this as I have two sisters, we are the three pea’s) and this gorgeous blue and gold bead which I just loved the colours of, the final touch was the flower clasp which I chose because it was so so pretty. The bracelet looks super cute and goes perfectly with my other jewellery bits. I love that the beads are all items which mean something to me & that i’ve picked – charm bracelets like these are fab for sentimental pressies and personalised gifts.

Are you a fan of charm bracelets? Which trollbeads would you pick for yourself?

    . PERFECT SUMMER MAXI .

When the sun’s beaming and your uber chilled, sometimes I can’t be bothered to over think what I’m wearing. In those instances I just want to throw on something comfortable, cute & super easy. This H&M maxi dress has been that go to garment for a few years now, still as trusty today as it was back in 2012 when I nabbed it in H&M (a total find I know).
    . H&M MAXI . H&M SANDALS . MODALU ERIN CLUTCH . MARC JACOBS SUNNIES .

Last weekend was one of those times, glorious sunshine, some serious heat, and a really chilled out day planned pottering around Bristol’s Clifton Village, browsing in the home stores & gorging on some seriously good grub in Spicer & Cole. The evening was spent in the garden, catching the last rays of sunlight over a tasty BBQ before driving back to London. The maxi served me well.

    KILLER DENIM

. THE PERFECT RIPPED JEAN .

There’s nothing like the perfect fitting pair of denim, but let’s be honest it’s like finding the gold at the end of the rainbow. Near on impossible. I have a couple of pairs of golden oldies which are worn beautifully and have been my go to jeans for god knows how long now, but this year I broke from my denim jean routine and added a new pair to my collection … these Whistles ripped knee jeans.
    . WHISTLES SKINNY JEANS £95 . TOPSHOP OVERSIZED SHIRT £30 . MODALU ERIN CLUTCH £99 .
    .  ZARA PUMPS 79.99 . DANIEL WELLINGTON SHEFFIELD WATCH £169 .

The investment was a first for two reasons: My first ripped jean, and my first pair of Whistles jeans. Both of which are factors driving and revolutionising my denim love affair. I hadn’t planned to buy these jeans but after browsing the store in Chelsea a few months back, I randomly came across these and thought i’d give them a try. I was ready for a squeeze and some mild panicking as i tried to get a brand new pair of skinny jeans on. But by god, it didn’t even happen. They slid on like an absolute dream, that in itself reduced my decision making period down to about 30 seconds. Fit, tick. Ripped knees, a new experience but a big YES from me. It was a super impromptu purchase, but one that has not been regretted for a single second since. These beauts are now my favourite pair of jean & I try to tie them into any outfit and occasion.
I’ve been styling them recently for work and post work dinner and drinks events with my new Topshop white oversized shirt (also majorly obsessed with). The duo is completely effortless but in my opinion looks pretty chic. I’ve been adding a pair of my new pumps (in this case my Zara patent pumps) to dress the denim up a little, and there’s nothing like a classic clutch to really finish off a look. My Modalu Erin clutch was the perfect companion to this look.

Are you a fan of the ripped knee jean? What do you think of this more dressy styling of the trend?

    . CROPPED TOPS & CIGARETTE TROUSERS .

This summer has been all about the two piece for me , embracing a number of different co-ord styles in my Zara skirt & jacket duo, my Motel print trouser co-ord and most lately my Zara short suit & ASOS floral cropped top & skirt co-ord. Whilst the focus of all these looks has been on the co-ord, there’s also been another trend hidden within these looks – the cropped top.
. ASOS FLORAL CROP TOP . ASOS CIGARETTE TROUSERS & NUDE PUMPS . CELINE NANO .
The cropped talk isn’t necessarily a trend I absolutely love or often sport, but given the rise of the high waist trouser, skirt or short, a cropped top is ever more appealing to me. Baring a glimpse of midriff opposed to feeling totally naked. This floral cropped top was one half of my ASOS co-ord (which I featured here) and whilst I love it as a two piece (you’ll have spied it in Mondays blog post) I also loved the top as a standalone item too. When the sun was out the other weekend I popped on my floral crop top & ASOS cigarette trousers & headed out for a stroll in the sunshine. My ASOS nude pumps went perfectly, taking the look from day to night, cocktail and sunshine ready.
Are you a fan of the crop top? How would you style a crop top for summer?

    RECREATE THE LOOK:

If you caught this post on Sunday or noticed this instagram snap, then you’ll know that i’m teaming up with Modalu this month to showcase their new Erin clutch bag (as debuted above). The Modalu brand is one i’ve been a fan of since spotting Miss Middleton sporting her namesake tote, The Pippa. The Pippa bag is probably the bag we’re all most familiar with, but after checking out the new collection I can’t believe how many more incredible bags Modalu have, particularly in the new SS14 collection. But the focus of this feature is the little Erin, in the gorgeous shade of claret red.
A classic clutch bag is an accessory we all need to have in the wardrobe, it’s a bag that works for a ton of occasions, stops us over filling our bags with god knows what (anyone else?) but most importantly looks uber chic and works for every occasion whether that be a laid back summer BBQ party, a champagne fuelled lunch out with the girls or most obviously a date night with Mr Right. I’ve been teaming the Erin clutch with my fave outfits for these occasions which i’ve given you a sneak peak of above, but stay tuned to see each look fully over the next couple of weeks.

    DARLING

    . GARDEN PARTY ATTIRE .

It’s officially the start of Wimbledon and that means sunshine, strawberries and plenty of champagne. It also means it’s time to pull out our best summer event outfits & don our nude pumps for an array of summer parties.
    . ASOS CO-ORD . MULBERRY WILLOW CLUTCH . ASOS NUDE PUMPS .

You’ll have seen this co-ord a couple of times already as it’s part of my ASOS Co-Ord collaboration (check it out here) and I also styled it for the festival season here, but for today’s post I wanted to show the two piece off to it’s full potential, no layers, just letting the co-ord do the talking. After all, when the sun’s out as it has been this weekend, there’s no need to hide away in a coat or swap a skirt for trousers.
I styled the two piece with a simple pair of nude pumps (actually a bargain I picked up from ASOS, i’ve not been brave enough to wear my Choo’s out yet) & a classic black clutch. Keeping the accessories super simple only made the print stand out more. I curled my hair (well attempted to, i’ve majorly lost my technique lately) and kept my makeup day time neutral but with a bold pop of colour on my lips.
All I need now is a ticket to the Wimbledon launch party again so I can put this look to full use.

What do you think of the co-ord trend? How would you style this for a summer event?

. MODALU ENGLAND – SPRING EDIT.

So my weekend posts are increasingly becoming the days where I showcase my new favourite purchases, the brands i’m lusting after or the activities i’ve been getting up to, and this weekend is fitting to form, and has turned into a series of posts full of new purchases (i’ve clearly been spending a lot). Today’s post is another debut post, this time featuring three gorgeous bags which I was fortunate to receive as part of a rather exciting collaboration i’m doing with Modalu England …
The collaboration centres around this gorgeous Erin clutch bag (in claret red), for which i’ll be styling up in three very different ways to showcase the diversity of the clutch bag. The Pheobe & Twiggy are two of Modalu’s SS14 collection, and two bags which I absolutely love. You can never have too many bags, after all you need a different bag for every occasion & the Modalu collection delivers just that. Stay tuned to see these beauties in my outfit posts very soon.
Are you a fan of Modula, which bag is your favourite?
