STRESSED SKIN RECOVERY
Beauty Regime Updates
I’m not a huge beauty geek as i’m sure you’ll know by now, I have my favourites and i’m pretty loyal to the brands and products I use. My skincare and beauty routine is also exceptionally basic and low maintenance (even If I did want to add more in I just wouldn’t find the time to do anything more elaborative and I don’t particularly like the look or feel of too much makeup on my skin) as such I tend to keep things simple and consistent. I only really add products to my routine from brands I trust, products I feel like my skin really needs and products I just love the affect of after testing. I talked a little about my anti ageing needs here and the updates I’d made to my skincare routine as a result, and more recently i’ve been wanting to help the impact stress has had (and still has) on my skin. I’ve introduced a couple of new products that have fast become staples, and today I thought i’d share them with you.

WHAT’S NEW
–
Bobbi Brown is probably my favourite beauty brand (as I’m sure you know if you’re read any of my other beauty posts) and I use their products for pretty much every step of my makeup routine. I’ve recently added two new BB items which I’ve just become absolutely obsessed with. Their vitamin enriched face base has been revolutionary for my skin, I’ve been using it as a primer and a second moisturiser in the mornings before my makeup. After having a summer packed with vitamin D, it’s been clear to me how much my skin just needs more rich vitamins and healthy oils to help it stay stress & blemish free, and this feels like a really enriching way of feeding my skin the good stuff. The second BB item is less a stress saviour, but a product that’s been keeping my skin looking super healthy, Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge. I’m not sure a product has ever changed my ‘look’ more than this, I’ve been using it daily on my cheeks and lips all summer long, it immediately gives me a healthy flushed look and adds some colour in a very subtle and natural way. I’ve really been loving the slightly more ‘natural’ and duey affect it gives my skin.
Another new investment & firm staple in my skincare routine right now is from This Works, a brand I love and have used for a long time from a sleep and stress relief point of view. Their stress check roller and pillow spray never leave my side, but this summer I also added in two new products I just loved the smell of and decided to give a go (and have since used religiously and re-bought). The dry leg moisturising oil which saved my (slightly over baked and sun stressed) skin during three weeks of Greek sunshine and the stress check face oil which I’m just absolutely loving for a morning skin reviver. I’ve been using the face oil every morning after a night with my favourite anti ageing products and before I apply my face base primer. I genuinely feel like it’s done my skin a whole world of good and really calms down irritation and wakes it up for the day ahead.
The final newbie into the mix is my makeup bag. I was actually quite desperate for a new makeup bag as the one I was using was a little too small, worn and just in need of replacing. I’d been looking around for a while but couldn’t find anything I liked or anything that seemed big enough (without being gigantic) or the right material (I wanted something durable). I found this beautiful number by Wouf quite randomly whilst strolling around one of the villages local to home one weekend with my mum, I knew I wanted it immediately & it’s ticking all my makeup bag beauty needs right now.

Aside from that my beauty regime has maintained pretty consistent since I last shared it with you, and my skincare and double cleanse routine has been working well since I upped my anti-aging game. I still swear by the biotech cleansing range from Elemis, I’ve tried pretty much their whole range and this cleanser and their pro collagen one are by far the most suited and effective on my skin. What I’m coming to find is that really everyone’s skin is very different and what’s important is understanding what your skin needs and likes and trying to be a little bit consistent with it. And, most critically how much vitamin D my skin needs to be at its best.
I’d love to hear your skincare favourites and routines?
